Stop perking the planes and start perking the players. The better you become in score the less access you have to HAWT rides.

Yeager your kidding right?? I'll use grizz as an example he is a very good stick and flys the 109 k4 mostly and your gonna tell me that it's a "HAWT" ride? :neener:
-
yeah, in fact its a monster.
And yes Grizz and Agent (for example) would be deadly in anything they flew.
But ask yourself which you'd rather see Grizz in, a 109k4 that up high can outrun (meaning catch) virtually every plane in the set? Or something like a P40 or Fm2?
Not that I really think HT will perk players, or limit their rides by score or ranking.
But I can see where you can make a case for it.

this subject has been brought up in previous threads, they have all ended badly!
personally i love the idea!! the better the player the more difficult the challenge so the more the points his hide should be worth.
:old: to me this will also make the scorehores regret their tactics as the better their scores and ranking the more they will be worth so the more they will be hunted. so if they game the game to obtain their rank they will not have the skill set required to fend off all the other scorehores looking to pad their perkie pile with the carcasses of high ranker hides!!
personally i know that both Grizz and Agent enjoy killing the swarm, and both have the skill set required to accomplish it. i dont think either of them or any Muppet for that matter, will have an issue with crushing the hopes of the dweebs who are looking to obtain perkies.
in addition if the point value for killing players such as myself, who just down right sux, makes for a lower perk value for killing this will create a balance.
if HT took the base perkie ponts for the specific ride and then used the player flying it as a multiplier (be it a possitive or negative) i think this could be used to great effect. those with skills and value will be worth the killing and those that just hang with those who have skills and value (like me) will be allowed to fly away laughing as their squadies get hammered by the horde!! :neener:

+1, Now that is an Idea that has merit. It doesn’t limit the skilled pilot any more then anyone else in their ride selection and rewards any lesser skilled pilot that may by chance, best them.

And how do you measure pilot skill for adjusting a pilot's personal "perk modifier"? The only way the program could do that would be by rank, and we all know how flawed that would be.

rank i guess is the only way that i can think of Lusche, always based upon the previous months final score.
like i said, those who game the game for the purpose of score would quickly lose any props they get from high score advantage because they would not have the skill set required to defeat the bounty hunters out to claim their perkie prize.
as i said previously, i dont think any of the players who are truly skilled and aggressive players would mind much. but those without skill who just scam the game to get the score would quickly learn to regret their decisions to be so gamey. face it if i know he is a high valued low skilled player and i know he is on, i and i believe many others are gonna actively seek him out.
those with skill get all the fights they want, those without get far more than what they bargained for.

Until they come along with something better it's all we got.

Not a bad idea, I bounty hunt every now and then as well, I enjoy watching them quietly lick their wounds and start padding their score again to make up for those deaths they incur.... :lol
I am seeing players I would have never suspected of falling victim to padding but, hey to each his own. I like the idea that if you need to be numero uno make it pay off for the rest of us when we catch you sneaking around padding your score and being timid.... make it worth while to climb to 32k to chase down some bombers dropping a single bomb in every town...... :D

SIG! SIG! SIG! :rofl
Thats HAWT

lot of good sticks that don't care about score, they fight until they run out of fuel, ammo, or airplane parts and then just up to do it again. Their scores would be low relative to their skill set so this system wouldn't be accurate for everyone.

yes it could be a little weak in some instances, but when you have a pilot that is averaging 5,6 or more kills per death then his rank no matter what will be better than a pilot who is landing 2 or 3 kills. i think it would still remain fairly balanced in the end.

really what? its a good sig...
