Title: meat freezer
Post by: CAP1 on September 23, 2010, 01:39:41 PM
hey guys.........i know a lot of you here hunt.

i have a 70's era meat freezer. it's the horizontal type. it works perfectly, and is plugged in working as i type this.

i'm cleaning out the basement..........it's destined to the scrap heap, since i have no use for it, and it's too old to sell.

any of you anywhere near south jersey wanting something like this, lemme know here, or pm me. it's free........you just have to come down and pick it up.

i'd rather see it go to use, than be scrapped.

Even working it will cost alot to run. Those old ones are so not economical.

YEA, i know.........if no one takes it, i'm gonna bring it to the shop, recover the refrigerant out of it, and scrap it.

if you scrap it could you seal a couple of contractor bags inside of it for me?  don't worry about what's in these bags just seal it up tight, throw some lime in there, and ... ummm never mind :D

Actually if you weren't way up in Jersey I'd take you up on it

+1

That washing machine or dryer looked like IT needed to go to the scrap yard.

In seriousness, if I had access to a vehicle I could lug it home in, I'd drive down and take it off your hands in a heartbeat. But I can't afford to rent a truck to drive that far and back, and it's definitely not fitting in the trunk of a Mustang.

Call one of the local food banks and ask them if they can use it. Same for Salvation Army or other charity.

It will hold a body if it is disassembled.

CAP1, Donate that puppy and write it off on you taxes if you have enough deductions to clear the standard deduction.

update on the meat freezer........

gave it to a local church. the reverend from this church brings his personal car to me, and they brought me a van they use. they use this van to take meals to homeless people in camden nj, and to provide other assistance to those in need.

it leaves next week, when they're coming over to pick it up.

although it might be kind of stupid, i'm not worrying about any sort of tax deductions on the donation...i just feel good that it's going to help them help others that need it.
