Title: System Locks At First Radio Call
Post by: Mongoose on September 24, 2010, 08:31:43 PM
I often have a problem when I take my first flight.  The first time I hit my transmitter, the system locks for about 20 seconds.  After that, no problem.

XP Pro 64 bit.

Sounds like a sound issue, you using onboard sound?

This is going to be related to a sound resource issue.  A DXDIAG output would be most helpful for this one.

Bump map terrain is the only option that is checked.

Shadow texture size is 1024

Hmm, the problem you describe is consitent with a computer who is resource struggling.  Is there a lot of HD activity with the pause happens?

Isn't that a lot of shadow to run with a single core CPU and only a gig of ram Skuzzy?

He does not have shadows enabled so it is irrelevant.
