Title: Amd k6-2 450with Voodoo 3, but i heard TNT2 is better?

I have an AMD k6-2 450 on an epox ata66 MB.  I am using a PCI version of the Voodoo 3, 2000 vid card and am getting frame rates of about 18 sitting on the runway, and 20 to 30 in flight.  In a discussion online a while ago folks were mentioning that the TNT2 cards are better looking, and faster.  I'm wondering if this is the case for Amd-processors as well as Pentiums and celerons.  I have an AGP slot, but allready had my vid card before i purchased the computer.  Is AGP gonna make any real difference in frame rate??  I'm wondering what would be my best bet in improving performance.

Amazing, (or disgusting, depending on ones PoV).  I'm using the VooDoo1 Black Magic and get the same frame rates on the ground or in the air of: 13-23  (Lately it's averaging 18-20 in flight.   And I have the same CPU  AMD-K6-2-450    Dingy and Jolly have some good input for this thread.  They get 20-40, or so I hear.

thanks tern, ill try to find them to get some info.  I am in 1025 res, . . .and i just gave myself a boost by updating my SB live drivers.  I'm now pushing 25-35 in the air, occasionally hitting 40-45, and not dropping below 20 unless i get a few bombers close together.  damn those bombers.

well i'm posting all my own replies, but i just went to 1600 res on my 19 in monitor, and i'm staying around 22 to 26 in the air, and it looks crystal clear real. . .I love it, . .tho i'd still like to push the frames up a bit, as they can drop off significantly especiall dogfighting in mountains.

I had used a K6-2 450 with a Monster 16meg card...got the same fps as you....bought a Viper 770 thinking I would get improved fps....not gonna happen (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

The reason is HT does not support the AMD 3D Now tech....only intel.

If you want more fps, which you do , believe me it makes a diff, then you must change MB and Processor.

I jus switched to a Celeron 500 and went from 26fps average to a 42fps average and I have'nt even overclocked the processor yet.
