Title: Nice work!
Post by: Fencer51 on October 02, 2010, 07:15:54 AM
A hearty well done to the Hellcat Fighter Group and the 334th FS "The Eagles" last night.

Gentlemen, in 6 Bf-109G6s and 8 C202s our two squadrons took on 14 P-38Gs, 13 P40Es and 36 Bostons... shooting down 13 for the Hellcat FG and 12 for the 334th FS!

Excellent job.

 :salute

Doesn't help those planes flew 70 miles to our landing base and attacked us all while we were covering landing friendlies.... Major horde hit 114 after it was decided no second strike would be made.

Saw 114 flashing on the map while we were recovering at 118.  Thought the same was gonna happen there too.

Krusty, as usual you are completely wrong.  This occured at V20.

Yup, worked as planned for a change, Fencer said "keep the fighters away from the G'6's" , C-202 is a mean little craft.

The fact that what I'm talking about occurred at another field does not make me wrong. I'm simply talking about something else. For fairness' sake, I'll add "good job Hellcat/344th!" but that doesn't negate the loss of respect for the last-minute-killing-binge (aka cheap shot) at 114.

The 114 hit was a last minute get together of a people looking for something to do. We had 45 mins to get some more kills and if the allies were not going to bring the fight to us we would bring it to them.

Started out as a compliment to another squadron we upped with at A18 to defend V20.

The compliment noted that between 14 fighters defending V20...6 were 109G6s and 8 202s.

As you know these two aircraft are flown frequently in the MA for their superior air to air prowess. (tongue in Cheek)

Man...those 4 gunz on the 202 are real world beaters.  And the two squadrons took on twice their number in fighters

including P38gs', P40E's, and since defending bombers were the chief target of these supreme air to air interceptors

they had to be dealt with at the same time.  Lemme see....8+6 = 14 defensive jugernauts against 27 fighters and

36 Bostons...36 + 27 (for those of you who don't see the disparity in numbers here ) = 63.  And that tells me over a third

of the attackers were lost to the 202s and G6s.  Again....let's put the evidence together here.

If you weren't at V20.....and don't see the disparity.....and weren't involved in flying with the two outnumbered out gunned squadrons

involved at V20.....stfu and post something relevant in your own post, or please post elsewhere!  :x

And shamus......LOL well said!

Was an F4F attempting to cover C106 group with 7 other VF-17 buddies...we got our butts handed to us by somewhere close to 5,000 German aircraft...well not quite that many but we were seriously outnumbered by at least 3:1 not counting the enemy bombers that we were supposed to try and stop. At one point on my run into the bomber formation (just before I got exploded by Honcho) I looked back and counted 9 German aircraft within 1.5k on my 6 running me down. I think it was at least that many on us all at one point or another. At any rate the Germans wiped out the task group and cleaned our clocks.

yeah but all you have to do is sneeze in the general direction of a boston and it blows up.

Hmmm, Allies whining about losing. Does someone have a different record we can play in FSO forums please?
