I laughed hard when I saw the 24

I always thought it would be awesome to somehow build a miniaturized 18-cylinder radial engine to power one of those.

i've laughed when i've crashed some of my own r/c's. one in particular, was when the wings folded on my ugly stick just as i was entering a snap roll.
when that liberator went in though......there wasn't much funny about that. the dude had a lot of time and money invested.
what caught me about that one, is that it kinda looked real the way it just rolled over like that.........

I hate it when you fold the wings on your rc plane, it always seems like the wings are clapping together to applaud your effort all the way to the ground :( I folded the wings on my stagger wing doing an elongated outside loop. It takes real talent to fold up two sets of wings at the same time.

Well you can have a Merlin.

when mine folded, the one that came out, yanked on the rx, and moved it enough that it pulled the battery connector out. she did a very nice sapp dive right into the mud....... :D
i honestly still laugh at that one when i think about it.

I thought it was sad. I can only imagine the amount of time, and effort that went into building something so complex.
CAP1 I thought it look real too.

I was rolling on the ground laughing when I had my mid-air collision. My hobbico superstar .60 collided with a twist .40 who was showing off

i used to use a twist for combat. had a midair with a dood that shouldn't have still been in the frey, as he had already lost his streamer. it didn't matter.......we all still laughed about that one....but we'e talking cheap planes here.

I can see how it would be different when you crash a 3,000 dollar plane versus a $200 trainer.
My plane wasn't a total loss - I was able to fix the wing and had it back flying the next weekend
His planes tail was severed when he cut infront of me. He saved the engine and most of the servos so he just lost the airframe

Beautiful.
Question... is there a reason why they use a 2 blade prop vs. a more accurate 3 or 4 bladed prop? They put so much effort in all the details, but the 2 blade prop kinda takes away from it.
Just curious-

You can't see how many blades it has when it's flying.
-
he is right. they flew them on 2 blade props.
i don't know why they did. i would imagine that those engines have more than sufficient torque and power to spin a nice 3 bladed prop. hell....if i ever get my pee38 in the air, it's running on .91 four strokes, and will fly on master airscrew 3 blades.

Now to put a GoPro on one and do it the FPV way ..

Update , They sound SWEET in the air ..
