In your opinion what the best video card would make AH look "oh so nice"?

my eperience has been the card that gives you the most fps doesn't give the "prettiest" picture..

my old voodoo 5500 had a better, ie sharper & brighter picture than my current leadtek GEforce2 ultra 64meg. My ATI Radeon32mb SDR at work gives a better "quality" picture than the GEforce but again doesnt give the most fps..

pix quality with the GEforce is good overall but lacks the "crispness" the Voodoo and ATI cards deliver. Maybe they are sacrificing that "crispness" for speed. Dunno. I do know I'm going to check out the 8500 ATI at Xmas. What the diff btwn 70 and 100+ fps if you lock it at 60 anyhow ...

Chaos, the term "best" is pretty subjective and all depends on what perspective you view a video card from.
Is your primary concern FPS?  If yes, then my guess would be a NVidia card.
If you are more concerned with image quality, then I would opt for an ATI card (Radeon or higher).
But then we get to your video display.  What kind is it?  If it is a low end monitor, then image quality may not be noticed between the ATI or the NVidia.

Pretty difficult question to answer.  I do not think there is a "best" video card out there on the market.  I think there are cards that will fit your needs, but "your needs" are just those.

The Intel Pro 10/100 is a good card.  It uses the DEC-21041 chip, which is a sweet Ethernet contoller.
It will also work without the addition of any drivers for all Intel based Operating Systems as every OS has drivers built in for this part.
