Post by: TOMCAT21 on October 18, 2010, 10:12:00 AM
I did not know where to post this so here it goes. I playing Aces High yesterday when my screen went black. I could still hear the sounds but the video was not there.  I got error showing aceshighexec. encountered an error and had to shut down.I shut down and restarted to no avail. Long story short I wound up completely uninstalling the game and having to reinstall  it. I am running Windows 7.

The description is typical of a computer which is running out of resources.  A DXDIAG output might be helpful along with the games "Video Settings" and "Options->Graphic Detail->Advanced" settings.

crashing for me as well. using vista. quad core. once or twice every night. video freezes then goes black with a windows error msg that aces high.exe has stopped responding and sends a problem report to microsoft. (i'm sure they'll get right on it) Sometimes it does this with a view change other times for no reason.

T2, thats pretty much the extent of my problem. I had it with Vista and then I switched to Windows 7 about 2 months ago and had no issues until the other day when it crashed.  I'm running game boaster and disabling my antivirus. It is a laptop so I am already limited by the video card.

sometimes i will also get a video hardware error in conjunction with the not working msg. I have the latest drivers so it's not a vc issue.

if anyone from hitech reads this, i am also running triple screens with matrox triplehead2go. Sometimes when i make a view change to another direction it does this. But i have had other squadies state they crash with a view change that have a simpler setup.

Sometimes the latest drivers are not the best drivers, especially if it is an NVidia card.  A DXDIAG output would be helpful.
