Saw that movie for the first time on October 31, 1981 at a buddy's birthday party and sleepover.  Musta thought about that dogfight for almost thirty years.

anyways my point was that i feel like the zero's do, but at the end of the movie when the nimitz launches it whole carrier wing at the japanese fleet even though its out numbered almost 5 to 1 its very obvious the japanese don't have a chance.

That's why I like watching Ba Ba Blacksheep.  The opening credits showing a Corsair out turn a Zeke is always good for a laugh every time I watch it.
