Title: Albatross D.Va in progress...
Post by: JHerne on October 20, 2010, 04:52:50 PM
As promised, this is the interior of the D.Va before close the fuselage halves. Tonight I have to add the control cables.

Either that's a really big coin or you're not going to fit in there.

Funny, I was thinking the very same thing  :lol

You mean you didn't know that he had the umpaloompas carry that coin out so he could snap the pic.

That is amazing. I can build somethings but nothing with that kind of detail, my patience falls a little short.

Nice job. :aok

JHerne, you should hook up with Treize, he's a real WWI freak  :D  Must come from living up there
by Old Rhinebeck or something.  Anyway, this is something I've seen from him.

Ever since I visited Rhinebeck in 81, this is hands down my favorite.  Although I was a little disappointed
to find them filling it with Aeroshell 15W50 instead of the original oil  :lol

I was the Director of the NJ Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum, and was good friends with Cole Palen before he passed away.

Also have family in Redhook, just a mile or two down the road from Rhinebeck.

Embarrassingly enough, I worked at Teterboro for 18 months and never found time to visit....sorry.
I have family in Germantown, about 10 miles north of the Aerodrome.

Who did you work for at TEB? Atlantic? Flight Safety? Jet?

We were right under the control tower. I was there from '96 to '05, then I moved to WI.

Worked for Aero Services for about a month, then Jet Aggravation for a year and a half.  I did do a
few stints at Hangar 18 across the runway from you guys.  I was there in the late 80s, then went to work at
Morristown.  Last year I moved to Charlotte and found out I have kidney failure, so I'm currently out of the
FBO bidness :D

I used to live in Motown, over by Fort Nonsense. After we got married we moved to the Rockaway/Denville area and I commuted Rt. 80 into TEB each day. Parsippany was a total FUBAR with 80, 46, 287 all coming together.

Small world. You ever have to deal with Phil Engle (he ran TEB under Johnson Controls) or Hank Esposito from Atlantic Aviation?
