Title: Guys, whatever you do stay away from MoH
Post by: Rino on October 20, 2010, 08:04:10 PM
Just downloaded the Steam version.  Turns out there is a glitch about 1/2 hour into the single player
game that prevents you from targeting anything on the left side of the screen.  You automatically fail and
have to restart every time.  Since the trucks use both sides of the screen, you are basically SOL.

EA is aware of the problem, but with their usual fine customer service hasn't done a damned thing about it.
I find it amazing that a bug this big could have made it through Beta testing.

I know I'm an idiot for buying anything from Electronic Arts, but fortunately they have cured me forever
with this FUBAR.

Never understood why some studios insist on using two seperate developers to make a single game.  DICE made the multiplayer portion while some relatively new studio made the single player portion of the game.  Of course the multiplayer portion is getting a lot of fixes (already a couple of patches and another on the way) to fix the MP issues but so far nothing from the developer that handled the single player portion of the game.  IMO, it's just not smart, efficient or saves money and all that results is an upset consumer base.  /rant off

As for your problem, I'm sure you already tried but did you press "4" (or whatever key you have it mapped to) for the Hellfires?

Thanks Ak...I saw a "fix" on the forums, restarted the level and by playing wimpy and not dying, it now
allows me to target the left side on the tower level.  Still not gonna buy anything else from EA though  :devil

Your telling them not to buy it because of single player?  Its actually a great game, once they nerf snipers and fix lagg there is no problems with it...

MoH is far from great, i tested the beta version and found it to be just another run and gun game, nothing separates it from CoDMW2 type game, guys are so leveled up its crazy, as far as EA or (dice) you'll be lucky to get a patch maybe 2 before they shelf it, just like they did in BFBC2 that game is so hack filled and buggy i haven't played it in months, EA or Dice won't give any kind of answer as to anymore patch's being released for that game, but they say with the Vietnam expansion pack for BFBC2 will fix alot of the game issue's..... ok so now i have to buy the expansion pack to fix the games issue's ?  :huh  ummm no thanks

Edit....  EA declared that the BF3 beta would come with MoH to try and boost sales, The problem being that DICE doesn't have a BF3 beta yet because they've been working on MoH.

Hey, it's your money, spend it anyway you wish.  If they couldn't iron out a major bug like this before
release...then I'm sure everything else is just hunky dory    Then again, I'm not going to pimp
for EA either.

What you said made no sense.....you played BETA MONTHS AGO.....and again they are fixing everything.  Increasing kick, smaller hit box's, snipers being nerfed...and lagg is being addressed.  Once its fixed the problem is solved. I will admit it isnt as good as BFBC2....but it beats COD easily.  Cod you have to worry about noob tube spammers and being knifed from 20 feet away.

People like you are nothing more than thieves.  What gives you the right that you feel entitled to steal a game, because that is what you're doing.  It is no different than you going into a store and shoplifting, but I guess someone that is a complete and utter moron won't be able to see the difference.

Sometimes I feel like the only kid at school that doesn't have a library of 1200+ stolen pop songs. Believe it or not, I actually go out and buy a band's album. Relevance? Probably none.

Did you pay for it?  No you didn't, you stole it.  Like I said, try and justify it all you want in that little 'tard mind you have but it still doesn't change the fact you stole it and are nothing more than a thief.  Your parents did a stellar job in raising you.

do you also pay for music from artists who are dead as well? because im sure they can use the money 6ft under right????

but you people can keep being idiots and buying your music and video games  and movies even tho the majority of it is pure and utter crap.  keep feeding them your money so they are compelled to make even more garbage....me i let my money do the talking for me and since im not giving them my money its making a statement....besides the music i like most artists give away for free anyways and make money of their live concerts, the way the industry was and should be again.....
by the say im not stealing anything im simply COPYING IT...BIG DIFFERENCE...you see if i STOLE your bike i would be depriving you from your property...but if i were to copy your bike we would both have one....
Yeah, it's unfortunate that you were born ill.

You're stealing, if i saw the blue prints for the F-22 and copied them I'd be STEALING.

afhstyrjaftqsjskszgj

I just typed that. It's my hard work done and I get to say who can copy my work and for what. I put time, patience, and skill into that so that I can put food on the table. If you copy it without my permission you deny my chance to get what I earned. You have the option of not copying it and not giving me what I asked in return for the right to copy it and instead use the many years of work you put into college and creating your own gibberish design. If you unable to do that (gibberish is not your profession) then you use the money you earned from your actual profession to trade for my work in my profession.

It was pretty much the same in the old days. Back then you had to earn your keep by killing your food. Today, killing your food is just one way to earn it. You can still pay the guy that kills your food for you with your earned money.

I'm sorry, I should have made that part bold the first time.

it would be stealing if you called it your own work...but if you copied the design and gave credit where credit was due it could be yours....heck copy the design and give it to china...im sure they woudlnt call it stealing...they would call it, shareing

who cares about copy rights its a bull toejam system....even our own genes are copyrighted, by the person who discovered them, just cuz you discover something dosent mean you own it....the whole system is discredited by the inclusion of companies and individuals copyrighting human genes...

so tell me if you are unsatisfied with a movie and you leave in the middle of it will they give you your money back???

you  buy a cd cuz you liked the radio single but the rest of the music is crap will they give you a refund??

you buy a game and find out that it dosent work very well, or dosent live up to the hype and sucks can you return it??

no to all three but youcan protect your self by using bit torrent....

but god forbid we deny these millionaires who make movies and music their money....i mean jeez forget the little guy its these millionaire music and movie industry people who need the protection, not us.

honestly alot of bands would want you to copy their music and give it to people, because it would draw bigger paying crowds to their shows....historically this is how the music industry worked...until record companies started to form and sign on these musicians....

again you said go on itunes to buy a song....buying one song at the same rate as if you bought the cd is not a bargain especially when you dont even know if you like the song and on utube you cant post all the songs from a cd, otherwise it would be the uploader who is violating copyright...

can you do that for movies video games??? no.

-BigBOBCH

right a dollar a song...let me do some simple math i will show my work so you can understand it

song $1

cd (ussually on average 12-16songs)

price on itunes (#of songs on cd* price per song) 1*14 = $14

price of a cd at a store $15 (maybe more i havent bought a cd in ages)

so you are essentially paying the SAME RATE per song....

$1 per song is alot of money considering some people have music library with thousands of songs....

right but even products that you have done research for might still come up short by your standards and generally you still have the option of returning merchandise, that you dont want for what ever reason.

Its just funny everyone's standards here are so low that you people arent even phased by spending money on things that dont deliver or live up to expectations..furthermore the fact that their is nothing you can do in said circumstances is fine?  maybe you people have alot of disposable income to throw around but when i make a purchase it is planned and deliberate...but even then you are not guaranteed satisfaction, which is why purchasing products that dosent protect you against this is foolish to say the least....

i didnt rate a game i simply said it is a cookie cutter fps which it seems to be from that video (funny how the gun runs past the player character to take up a position next to him)i never said if it was good or bad...their are alot of cookie cutter fps some good some bad, they are all essentially the same tho, not much innovation.

what your not getting is due to rampant theft of music good musicians are ending up roof tilers or motor mechanics because their lively hood has been stolen from underneath them. This leaves us with the mass produced I wanna be a pop star auto tune crap. The stuff nobody had to work hard for.

quite the opposite. I'm saying that a talented musician does not necesarily see music as a career option due to the fact that his work will undoubtedly be stolen. Most rap isn't music either, its usually racist dribble.

milesobrian,
With all due respect, based on your post count....I would recommend you change your name, new alias, and start afresh. The blather you've been posting in various threads on this bbs is not how you want to start as a newbie in offtopic discussions. Unless you want to carry that "I know everybutteringthingthereistok nowandyoudont" reputation which will immediately degrade every thread you plant your post in.

Going back to the game for a moment.

What was wrong with the sniper issue? Why do snipers need to be "nerfed"? Not trying to cause a flame war, just curious. I haven't got the game and can't play online anyhow due to my satellite internet connection.

Ok, essentially because the sniper is a 99% 1 hit kill, over 8/12 people on your team are sniping, as well as the enemy team.  This causes you to have no help for objectives.  They will be making it so long range its a 2 hit kill for anywhere but head, and 1 hit headshot.  For close range its 1 hit kill.  I understand this isnt "realistic" but when literally 80-90% of your team is sniping its causing issues on a lot of the game types and bigger maps.  Along with because since guns dont have bullet drop in this game like BFBC(2) its sooooo easy to snipe its almost a joke.

Its just funny everyone's standards here are so low that you people arent even phased by spending money on things that dont deliver or live up to expectations..

No, the only one with low standards I've seen in this thread is the tool that has been openly advocating stealing.  Try and justify it all you want, you're still stealing.

furthermore the fact that their is nothing you can do in said circumstances is fine?  maybe you people have alot of disposable income to throw around but when i make a purchase it is planned and deliberate...but even then you are not guaranteed satisfaction, which is why purchasing products that dosent protect you against this is foolish to say the least....

Maybe if you would do some research into the product you're buying before you spend some of your mommy's and daddy's hard earned money on it.  Want to buy a new record?  Why not try listening to the music on the radio first and most music stores let you listen before you buy.  Want to see a movie?  Why not read the reviews first or watch some trailers to see if it interests you.

EXACTLY! That is what I do....I NEVER go see a movie unless I watch multiple trailers and read reviews.  And for music, I watch music videos on youtube, and listen to the music on the radio first.
