Rolling planeset
Objectives: Take neutral bases in between the rivers.
Only GV troop transports enabled to stimulate ground action and bring bridges into play.
C-47's are resupply only.
You must defend your bridges to advance or destroy the enemies to keep them from advancing. Bridge downtimes 10 minutes.
Radar: small map 1940 standards
Base warning range for Bombers and Fighters reduced to keep enemy bases from flashing while you are still on runway.
Tower Radar (Dot) 30 second delay. what you see will be old info, so keep your head on a swivel.
NOE radar deck 200
Ack lethality increased a little, but still below MA standards.
Do not attack bases A-1 and A-2!
-
I've got to remember that whole take out the bridges thing
-
This is gonna be fun.
-
do you know that aajager landed deadstick on an enemy base last night....and sat there for nearly 5 minutes and the ack still didn't kill him?

lol,,,,,,,i was fighting jc67 directly over the field while aa was sitting there. at ma standards, it'd have torn me to shreds.......it's fine as it is.
he didn't drag the fight there btw.....i simply chose to be stupid and engage there. :devil
was a friggin fun fight. the only thing bad, was that i kinda sorta vulched him......didn't realize his engine was off till i had already fired the burst that made him go boom.
i apologized to him, telling him i felt like a schmuck for at least a second. :devil :D
-
you get used to it eventually..
by the way or you Laverne or Shirley? I have to go pick out new shirts this weekend
-
i think i'd hafta be the tall one wearing the captains hat........ :noid

crap.. I have to be the short one again.. well at least I won't be uncomfortable on the bus
-
Cap is right. You're surely a Shirley Dicho. :D
-
:neener:
you're still a Siphonaptera
-
Yep I got film of it. Funny thing was, Cap flew over me and got killed by the ack as I was sitting there on the runway getting peppered. :D

my plan was to finish that sloppy 4 point roll, then come land for a photo op. 2 pee38's on the luftweinie runway, showing our superior equipment and all that stuff. :devil

i took off once from the flying w airport. had a cfi in the plane with me. c-172. at about 200 ft agl, i noticed a bee buzzing around the windscreen. i hate bees. i'm still somewhat fearful of them, thanks to finding a nest the hard way when i was a kid.
i mentioned it to steve. he said just keep climbing.....they can't fly at 1,000 ft. sure enough, the dam thing kept trying to fly, but couldn't....landed on the glareshield, and WHACK!! steve hammered him with his notebook. :devil

As the campaign moves deeper into 1942, JG-77 has begun to receive new BF-109F4's deployed at base A-21.
To counter, the RAF has moved it's Spitfire MkV's from 145 and 601 squadrons to base A-22.
Both sides have now established a presence in the valley by moving armored units across each river.
The battle for full control of the valley has begun.
-
It was brought to my attention that I forgot to disable the I-16's 20mm cannon and rocket rails. This made the plane's armament much more potent than the C200 it was supposed to represent.
This has been corrected.
Apologies to the allies for letting them face too many cannon armed AC.
I seem to be unable to disable the gun package that contains the 12.7mm. I am unfamiliar with this gun, so I hope it is not too unbalancing.
-
Jim the 12.7 mm is about like a .50 cal for the most part

That should be OK then.

Phase Three: As the German Gruppen are starting to re-equip with the Bf-109G-2, RAF units are starting to replace their losses with Spitfire VIIIs, including several American squadrons. In addition, the Regia Aeronautica has re-entered the campaign with new Macchi 202 Folgore fighters. The Allies strengthen their air forces with the addition of Lend Lease American P-40Es and North American B-25 Mitchell bombers.
Both sides continue to move more aircraft to the front but hold their newest aircraft back at rear bases.
The battle seesaws back and forth with Axis currently controlling more bases in the valley.
-
The Allies have erased much of the Axis's gains.
Phase Four:
In a last desperate push, the Germans send their newest aircraft, the Bf-109G-6 and Fw-190A-5 to operate from rear-echelon bases.
In addition, the Italians send 2 squadrons of Macchi 205 Veltro fighters to the front.
The Allies not only counter, but double-down on the Axis. The Allied Operation Torch has provided US built P-38Gs, and F4F-4 Wildcat fighters to counter the Germans, while the RAF brings in their latest fighter, the Spitfire Mk. IX.
The last push also sees the combat debut of the Douglas A-20 Havoc, a high-speed medium bomber well suited for tactical operations against both enemy armor and bases.

Something went screwy in the arena this afternoon, even though everything was enabled as it should be, I wasn't able to see anything enabled in the hangars and I had to reset it.
Sorry bout that.
