Hi
Been playing AH for 10 years nearly but never seem to find anyone playing AVA in UK evening time. When is best to find people in this arena. I am soo bored of the MA.

Im usually on between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm CST Monday thru Wednesday. I'm only speaking for myself here but I think it would be fantastic if a bunch of you Euro guys got together and populated the arena during prime time over there.
My formula for getting people to come in there if I'm alone is to up a plane and attack an enemy base. Within 30 minutes I have several volunteer lead donors join me about 95% of the time.
Good luck

i generally log in(when i can) around 8 or 9 eastern time. if there's no one there, i go blow things up. someone comes in, then next ya know, there's about 10+ in there, and massive fun ensues.

I think Sparow tries to do this occasionally. Perhaps you can get in touch with him?

We need an AvA alert system.
We use text messaging in our squad among a few of us.
Technology is at the point where we could come up with something. AOL IM or something similar. Skype.
Anyone have any ideas? I know I have free time and someone sending an alert for some AvA fun would prompt me to log in at odd hours of the day (USA odd hours).

Hello Fogold.
I'm usually on around 8pm UK time.
I'm in either AvA or DA. Give me a shout when you're on mate.

hmmm you might be on to something there!

Thanks folks. I'll try that. I'll look in this weekend and Blow Things Up as suggested! :D

hey....if you level bomb.....the calibration is different. you have to put the crosshairs on your target, then hold the calibration key for a few seconds, while maintaining the crosshairs on target. :aok

thank ya sir...i forgot abot that one

Skype isn't a bad idea...we can coordinate better this way...
Or...perhaps we can agree on a standardized time so that we know there will be folks on, sort of like a squad night but the squad is AvA.
Just tossing ideas out.

That would be great. I nearly quit the game because my squad split a coupla years back and I miss playing scenarios. The MA is just a rammy with little strategy. Sometimes its fun. Doesn't help that even after 10 years I still get my bellybutton handed to me in dogfights by whippersnappers with better situational awareness/quicker reflexes/better shooting than me
I don't have that much time either what with kids, work and Battlefield BC 2 :D
Of course people are gonna say "don't moan about the MA, take a leadership role and set up missions yourself" which is true.

I think coming to the AVA is a much better idea :D

Deackin an undefended field still seems to start populating the AVA at pretty good rate. :joystick:

Concur... although when they're available the heavy bombers do draw a crowd of unfriendlies

Hi chaps!
We should have a sticky post with the squads preferred schedules. For instance, 249 Sqn RAF will check AvA every Wednesday between 21 and 22:00 hours GMT and, if someone's in, will usually stay until 24:00 hours GMT (Greenwich Medium Time). We will check AvA also on Sundays in the same time frame or after SEC's in wich we participate. Except if RL interferes,of course.
Cheers,

in any arena in this game, we can all make our own fun.
i pretty much friggin HATE the lw arenas. they suck in my book, 'cause they're populated with ace pilots, hotards, alt monkeys, pickers, runners, and spawn campers. i know there are some good fights to be had in there, but they're hard to find.
for this reason, i was flying mw almost exclusively. sometimes no fights to be had. so i'd take a set of lancs, and do silly crap, like plan my route, and drop a single egg on each radar tower along my chosen route. sounds silly, but it's kinda fun in a weird way, and almost always gets someone to come up and chase me. normally they think i'm a noob, and attack me right when i'm at the drop point, and they do this from dead six. dead six is called that for a reason. :devil
other times, i took lancs and went deep into enemy territory, to bomb their main cities near hq.
then my stubborn bellybutton finally tried ava. and you can ask jaeger1....for a loooong time i was being an bellybutton about it, stirring up poop in his threads about it. i eventually ended up apologizing to him, because i was wrong. then ranger put the twin rivers map up. that combined with jaeger1 telling me the pee38 was available.......lured me in there.
i've not flown any of the other arenas since. no one in there? take a cannon bird, and go straffe some v-bases. if there's heavy bombers enabled, take up a set, and bomb some stuff. those two things are pretty much guaranteed to get someone in there. it generally snowballs from there.
the maps are small, so if you see only 10 or 20 pile-its in there.....that's the equilivent of about 150 to 200 in the lw arenas with those gihugic maps.
then top it off with the immersion you get from having to id the plane you're fighting, not having that red neon sign telling you when he's close enough to shoot at......
then there's the comraderie.........with only a couple of exceptions, EVERYONE in there is friendly. i was in a fight, which i started at a disadvantage, aajager came along. he asked if i wanted help, and i asked him to hold off. he did. he even covered my bellybutton from an incoming con. that kind of stuff is the norm there. jaeger1 even escorted a couple of us allied guys home.
you can't go wrong in the ava.
now i'm gonna head home, and log in, since it seems the big bomber escort run is canceled.
-
indeed

and no need to worry about those tracers.......they're just directional flares. :devil
