Title: DETONATOR 5.32
Post by: MANDOBLE on July 03, 2000, 02:51:00 PM
These drivers work better than 5.30 or 5.22 on GForce DDR systems. Download them from:

Hmm actually they are recognised as being slower in normal D3D than the previous drivers but are said to be significantly faster when using AA.
Now i tried em on my DDR and they are slower by approx 3fps in normal D3D on runway etc in B17.
But significantly whenever i turn on AA and force it AH locks up on load with a truly scrambled kaleidoscopic view. Which forces a Hard reset no other way out.
Turn AA off and loads ok again i also tried deleting video.cfg still the same problem.
But whats worse using 5.32 drivers i was getting total comp lockups in AH, once a spontaneous reboot and once when teasing  Ghostf ? i had a comp lockup with a red screen letting him off the hook damn it  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) this forced a hard reset. Changed back to 5.30 drivers no more problems, so remember 5.32 are unofficial beta's with all that implies.

I have no problems at all using 5.32 drivers. I got 1-2 fps more in 190A8 (1280x1024x32 no FSAA). The most curious effect is that having only 1-2 fps increase, view transitions seems to be much smoother.
I suppose you selected SVGA PCI before installing the new 5.32 drivers, else, you'll have the problems you are describing.

My system:
Athlon 700
128 PC133
Soltek SL77KV MB (AGPx4 enabled in bios, AGP aperture set to 64MB).
GF DDR Creative Anihilator Pro 32 MB
SB AWE 64

The results for 1280x1024x32 no FSAA 190A8:
Engine stopped on SW RW Field A1: 45 fps.
Just after taking off from A1: 60 fps.

The results for 1600x1280x16 no FSAA 190A8:
Engine stopped on SW RW Field A1: 44 fps.
Just after taking off from A1: 59 fps.
