The November SEC is....
..wait for it...
Yes! The Battle of Britain!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HLvz2c8SnQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HLvz2c8SnQ)
It is going to be LEGENDARY!
The schedule:
Frame 1 - 7th Nov
Frame 2 - 14th Nov
Frame 3 - 21st Nov
Special Events Arena 2 (SEA2) and always at 3PM EST.
Join the fight, join the fun, join the awesomeness - SEC all the way!
-
hurrah and tally!
Ju's burning makes my day complete :joystick:
Can we have radar stations to protect?
-
HTC! Sneak in the He-111!
-
will only be legendary and historically accurate when the British planes involved can catch the bombers and not be Bnzed to death by uber 110c's!
:bolt:
-
:cry
:P
-
well it's the truth :neener:. There was a reason those 110's needed their own fighter escort because they got butchered. I read somewhere that the 110c was a later variant and the 110 at the time would have had less powerful engines.
Seeing a 110 outrun my spitfire mk 1 is depressing.
The Heinkel would make life for a depressed Hurri 1 driver much more cheerful.

How about sky full of Ju87s? :)
-
It is not "Legendary" till we get the He-111, early version of Ju-88, Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF, Bristol Blenheim Mk.IVF, spit II, Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF, Bristol Blenheim Mk.IVF

lucky for me I have all those Sundays free and The Few will not rest until the skies over Great Britain are clear once more.
Bring any Luft machine you wish our Spitfires and Hurricanes WILL deliver a knock out blow :x :aok
HURRAH!!!
-
just curious, SEC still go on the night of halloween? or is that just a U.S. thing?

SEC usually has 3 frames, the last week off. Unless i'm mistaken.
-
Yes! Yes! Yes!
I will even fly Hurricanes like real 249 Sqn did, I'll leave the Spitfires for the 19 Sqn chaps! If only we operated from our historical airfields... that would be incredible!
I will try to resurrect my squad mates into this SEC, pronto!
Thank you chaps!
<S>
-
Do we have to join a new squad each time or am I still good to go, I am so going to be there................

Hm. Flying a bomber in a scenario has a much more attractive quality than flying a sortie in the MA. Wouldn't mind gettin' placed in a Heinkel 111, if we can get it by then. *hint hint

These rumours about the He-111 have become increasingly frequent... Where there is smoke... :noid
Cheers!

and out turn, out climb, out gun. When BoB scenarios are run the 110 always ends up with a very much higher K/D than the 109.
Still much thanks for running a SEC BoB. I'll be there in my Spit I and will enjoy it a lot (even though I won't be able to catch the Ju88s and will be out flown by the 110s).

hopefully there will be a couple of stipulations in place to prevent any gamesmanship on both sides.
Kermit has already started fabricating mistruths already so it should be a FUN one! :aok

I can finish that piece for you.
"Where there is smoke... there must be a huge pile of self combusting rumours" :)

Right Chaps, here's whats happening.
We are all going to go up there, but only the RAF will get down intact :devil
between 71 Squadron and the Few, I think there are enough spitdweebs to see off these German meanies!

Agree 100%.

The RAF gets Spit IXs? :)

We've all heard it said before.
Ue Germans were told to do our worst!
You RAF girls should know what you need to do.

First frame is getting closer and closer.. Soon the convoys traveling in the English channel will experience the Stuka fear if the RAF cannot defend them!

Just watched the newsreel, what an outrage! Cheeky Hun. Is the RAF still taking pilots from Australia? If so maybe there's a spare Spitty or Hurricane for an old Camel driver from the last lot. :salute
I'm a bit of a noob outside the WW1 arena, can we just show up on the event days, or do we need to register?
-
I'm on stand by resting up at the savoy
Enjoying the delights of Piccadilly
Ready willing and able to give the Bosch a bloody nose
Give my batman a call if you require my services in a spitty
He will dig me out of the night clubs of London to defend All that is righteous good and honourable in this trying time
Tally ho

Background
***********
In the spring of 1940, Hitler's armies smashed
across the borders of the Netherlands and
Belgium and streamed into the northern reaches
of France. The German "Blitzkrieg" moved
swiftly to the west and the south, splitting
the British and French defenders, trapping the
British army at Dunkirk and forcing its
evacuation from continental Europe. The Germans
entered Paris on June 14 and forced France's
surrender on June 22. The British now stood
alone, awaiting Hitler's inevitable attempt
to invade and conquer their island.
Great Britain was in trouble. The soldiers rescued
from Dunkirk were exhausted by their ordeal.
Worse, most of their heavy armaments lay
abandoned and rusting on the French beaches.
After a short rest, the Germans began air
attacks in early summer designed to seize
mastery of the skies over England in preparation
for invasion. All that stood between the
British and defeat was a small force of RAF
pilots outnumbered in the air by four to one.
Day after day the Germans sent armadas of
bombers and fighters over England hoping to
lure the RAF into battle and annihilate the defenders.
Day after day the RAF scrambled their pilots
into the sky to do battle often three, four
or five times a day. Britain's air defense
bent but did not break. By September,
the Germans lost enthusiasm for the assault.
Hitler postponed and then canceled invasion
plans, turning his attention to the defeat
of Russia. In appreciation of the RAF pilots'
heroic effort, Winston Churchill declared:
"Never before in human history was so much
owed by so many to so few."

Frame 1 was played yesterday and there were about 70 pilots slugging it out over the English channel. We saw some really big Stuka attacks against large 15+ ship convoys and channel ports :aok
Frame 2 where the Luftwaffe attacks the RAF airfields in Britain, will be played next Sunday, Nov 14th. Join the fun and be a part of the first SEC frame to reach 100 players! It will be Legendary! :rock
