which is better in surviving low altitude attack in this game?
-
In my opinion I would say the 190F is more durable. It was built for ground attack use. The Typhoon comes with that handy bullet scoop on the front. A grasshopper or a bullet, it won't matter if it gets sucked into the scoop! Your engine is gone... :uhoh

Typhoon, the best defense is a good offense;
Typhoon has incredible speed at low altitude, huge armaments of 4 20mm lazer cannons, and most of all has a skin with shark teeth.
190F8 is ok, it turns horrible, it has a good armaments, and take a pounding of cannon and MG rounds.
It all depends on how your going to fly.

Is it me or it just takes a long time for 190F to run out of oil?
It seems that i can nurse the 190F back to base 1 sector away with oil leaks

That's typical of radial engines. That's why all the USN aircraft use radials.

190F

190F by a long shot, more robust, radial, loads of ammo and ord, roll rate, and the ENY value is mid range instead of typhoonof 8
-
On the other hand the Typhoon is around 20-25mph faster on the deck than the 190F8 which puts it in the same neighborhood as the La7(w/out wep), the 109K, 190D, and 51D.

Apple vs an Orange.
The 190F-8 has more armor around the cowling and it can take a beating more so than the Typhoon. If your target(s) is an invading hoard of gv's, the 190F-8 would be my choice. Learn to use those Pb1 rockets and you will be the bane of gv's. If you are going to help pummel a town, then the Typhoon might be a better call. The Tiff can carry the 8/3.5in rockets (140lbs dmg/rocket), or 2/1k or 2/500lb bombs. Oh, and the quad 20mm is quite nice. The 190F-8 can not match the ground pounding ability of the Typhoon.
In a low level dog fight, if the 190F-8 can keep the Typhoon turning left and/or get it in a rolling scissors the Typhoon is dead meat.

That speaks for me.
But I would take a typhoon just because it has 4 20mm cannons and a skin with a sharks mouth on it. :D

I'd take the Typh any day in this type of fight. With good throttle management you can negate most of that nasty right hand pull when you don't want it and use the torque to roll when you do.

those 4 20mms are a great set up I may add

I preffer the Typhoon for all forms of ground attack, I set the guns out to 600, make it good for killing wirbs far out, and de acking from a distance, all in all, despite the fragile radiator bullet scoop, I think the Typh has more survivability then the 190 due to its great low level speed
