Hello! i'm new to the fourms but not to fly aces high. i've got a problem, i don't know if it is a bug or its just something i changed by accident. heres my story & problem:
not to long ago i decided to change up offline play & customize it. but after i did that, i couldn't see the rounds go flinging from any machine gubs whether plane or tank. but ONLY the machine guns, not AA guns or the cannons on tanks. its really messing up my acuracy. any advice?

Sounds like you turned off tracers. Turn them back on and you will be OK.

you would find that under, preferences, flight, look to see if you have tracers turned off.
If your interested you could goto arena setup, then goto settings, environment and look for flightmodeflags.
That is were the lead calculating gunsite can be enabled and that might help with your shooting.

You also can enable the precision divebomb site at the same location.
this will show you exactly where your bombs will drop so you can practice taking out those pesky tiger tanks.

Another nifty option you have is being able to change what vehicles the offline drones are.

I would say that if you're learning the tracers are probably going to start killing your ability to aim.
It's much better to get in close to shoot, rather than walk the rounds in from further out.
Also consider the hitting power of machine guns is much stronger the closer you are. The longer they fly downrange the slower they go and the less they impact on the target.
Set your convergence to the range at which you kill (if you say 600 yards you're not paying enough attention :) ) no more than 350, and don't shoot outside of this range. Closer = better when killing folks with MGs!
However, if you're set on using them, only use them for a little bit. Just until you sort of get used to shooting and landing some hits. Then turn them off. You will start thinking about angles and deflection and where you need the target on your gunsight "picture" (and you'll start recognizing a good sight picture) and it will help in the long run.
Welcome to AH! You'll enjoy it here!
