Aggrivating for those who use your mouse as a gunsight to have to move the mouse to look at E6B, then re position it after you have looked. Would be a very good in combat addition. Hell, if we can ".score" why can't we ".E6B"? Think of this while in a dogfight, knowing you're low on fuel.

Why do you have to move your mouse?
1. Hit esc, or programmed joystick button to Open clipboard.
2. Move mouse, click on E6 to Open
3. Hit esc, or programmed joystick button to Close clipboard.
Now, every time you open the clipboard on this flight, the E6B will already be open.
Do this as you take off or climb out, before you position your mouse-sight, and all is well.

(my cursor looks like a gun sight. ;) )

+1, good idea. I use a trackpad so it would save me a lot of trouble.
-
I lock my cursor using the H key. Then it is a pain to unlock look at E6B then reposition/re lock cursor.
This idea has been shot down before, but I think ".e6b" is far more useful than ".score"

It would be very convenient to have a .dot command to bring up the E6B window, would allow us with programmable sticks to program a macro to bring it up. It is rather cumbersome to have to click multiple windows to bring it up while in flight.

+1 I also wished for this and an auto e6b option where it comes up each flight. See http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,284598.0.html

Wished for this some time ago...no mgmt ever said yes or no...maybe we can get a easter egg in the next patch.
-
Still think it would be easier to have it come up like the damage display left hand of the screen. Gamey...yes. But, no one had a computer controlled climb and speed read out in their paper and wood clipboards during WW2 either. And usualy they read it below the eyeline to their gunsight. Not blocking their whole frontal view.

There's a dot command for score??
Anyway, I don't understand the "multiple mouse clicks" thing. You open the E6B and as long as you don't close the E6B when you close the clip board, the E6B is still open every time you open the clip board.
Either way, +/-1

My problem with the e6b...
When you open a new tab like the e6b or roster the clipboard has a separate saved position, but when I open the e6b and have the clipboard where I like it, when I open the roster and close it, the clipboard goes back to the other saved position and I have to close and re-open the e6b to get my favorite position back.
I would really really like to have a single key command that can both open and close the e6b, without any lag if possible. What I mean by no lag is not having to wait until the e6b slides fully open/closed before I can send it the other way again.

anyone not use the mouse of a gun sight? I feel like the only one.

The work around for this one is you need to open and close the clipboard with whatever tab where you want it to be when you repeat the action again.
Open clipboard, open E6B, put clipboard where you want it, close clipboard. Open clipboard. Should open where it was when you closed it.
Repeat with roster, etc. You also have to do the same thing in the hanger. The clip board should stay where you put it.
The thing that really screws up clipboard position is changing resolutions. I think where the clip board shows up when you open it is a function of where it is when you close it in any particular configuration.

I do. My cursor is modified to look like a little gun sight. The upper, left corner is the clicky, pointer part. I just center it over the actual gun sight and move my head around.
I fly with the clipboard open most of the time. At least until I get engaged. I can't find anything without the dots and I get lost easily. I also fly planes with small fuel capacities often so I watch the E6B closely.

Not in planes. Doesn't work with full 6DOF TrackIr ;)

This does not work. With all tabs closed there is a specific saved position, another one for when a tab is opened. When I open the E6B it goes to the position I want it in for open tabs, but when I then check the roster and close the roster, the clipboard goes back to the closed tabs position. I have to close and open the e6b again to get it back to open tabs position.

I agree that it would be a handy command. +1

Don't close the tab before you close the clipboard and the clipboard will stay where you want it whether the tab is open or not or whether you open the tab or not.
I.E. Open the clipboard. Open the tab you want. When the clipboard moves to another point on the screen, move it where you want it to be and close the clipboard there with the tab still open.
Repeat with just the clipboard, no tabs, and all the tabs open with the clipboard where you want it and it should stay there from now on, no matter what tab you open, unless your saved settings folder gets messed up.

Ok sorry, I forgot to mention that the clipboard can't quite get to the position I like it in when it doesn't have tabs open, this is what I mean...
E6B open...
Tab closed...
Pictures edited, but note that the top of the image is left alone...
Further explanation just in case: I open the E6B, clipboard goes to my favorite position, I open roster, E6B remains open behind it, close the roster, clipboard reverts to closed tabs position, I have to close and open the E6B again to get my position back, and it always annoys the heck out of me.
