Title: hooray maturity!
Post by: bagrat on October 27, 2010, 10:38:56 AM
My father always used to tell me I was retarded until I turn 25, because that was the point in which my brain would be done developing.
This used to offend me, but this morning I woke up and feel like I can suddenly think so clearly about situations which would always baffle me. I'm 21 and have had this feeling to point of recognition only a couple of times, a flight instructor of mine described it to me as an "ahaa!" factor, but I thought he too was just a nutbar. Anyway I'm feeling good and randomly developed the desire to wake up early in the morning instead of wanting to sleep in until 1 in the afternoon along with other societal norms. Hooray maturity I can't wait to see what I learn In the next four years! :D

when you hit 30.......at least for me.....another milestone is reached.  the truism of being able to "trust your gut"...and be right.

it means what it sounds like it means.  in both business..and personal relationships......you suddenly no longer have the need to use extended thinking to solve issues like you used to have to do.  typically by then...you've gained enough experience in life to know a good thing...or a bad thing... no matter how complex the issue...because after 30..your mind can break it down to its lowest common denominator fairly quickly  ..and... you have less trouble saying the word "no" to people.

I must have skipped that milestone. Where is the reset button?  :(

I found this to be very true, when I get a young employee working under me I make them do all the extended thinking on paper because if they don't there is a very good chance they will stuff something up. In time they develop the gut feeling but usually no-one under the age of the late twenties develops it. Once you have it you can become three or four times as productive as those that don't.

One day phatzo one day. I am still on that path but at least I have something to look forward to. I second guess my gut feeling too much sometimes.

When I was 17, one night out finding trouble, I asked my friend, "Do you think we'll be more responsible when we're older?"
He replied, "No, but we'll have more responsibilities."

Eleven years later and coming true  :old:
