I had this happen to a car of mine, I still managed to get it 2000km home in limp mode. They sound just like idiots who dont know how to look after their car. I'm sure an ECM light comes on when the car goes into limp mode. If you can afford a beamer you can afford to get it diagnosed. Its almost as silly as tank tards crying about bombs.

It's just fear mongering,limp mode isnt new,heck BMW had a similar idea when electronic fuel injection first appeared in their cars,it would revert to mechanical injection if there was a computer glitch or other problem.BMW owners should be glad they can atleast still drive the car to the nearest repair place.
So they have fuelpump probs,like countless other cars,I bet alot of the owners dont even know they're supposed to use "premium fuel".
Seems even Lexus is having problems with fuelpumps.....ya the pursuit of prefection is a lofty goal.......
I'd hate to think what one of these owners would think about my benz,it has a intake leak and it burbles at idle,man it might just explode or something and scares me to death.....maybe I should sue MB because I get so scared..... :devil

Really old news to me... I blame that more on the fact that the city I live in is packed full of them... to clarify, if it's the same problem I've known about, the problem component this time around is that the "high pressure" fuel lines for BMW's stock-turbo models aren't really all that tollerant of "high pressure".
Their bumpers that need to be micro sealed properly with an epoxy to the car is another.
Long story short, BMW has been crap for those who know nothing of cars but have money to burn on them, if you gotta go foreign buy Mercedes or Volvo... unless you can spring for that RR :aok .

Does anyone remember e46 m3 crankshaft bearing recall issued twice? We were replacing crank bearings and then crank. bearings with different oil grade.
Somehow that one was unnoticed but this....talk about blowing out of proportion.
Oh yeah! e53 auxiliary fan recall was fun, cars were burning down.

My Neighbours Brand new 2 month old 335i Convertibel dont move anymore and BMW dont know why if you put ignition only a yellow Flash sign lamp lite on nothing else work its now in Munich back at the Factory to find out the Problem..they gave him a 320d x-drive.

I had a similar experience with a BMW motorcycle, took it to a BMW dealer to get diagnosed on their BMW computer. It didn't know what was wrong so I traded it in.
