Daughter just called. She received a phone alert to seek cover..... armed gunman at Rudder Tower.

And I imagine its only a Parade weapon? Didn't read story, but after you said a Corps Cadet.....
Glad if it is/was only that, and not another nut shooting up a Campus.

I'm not familiar with what would be his rifle but would imagine thats what it is and was what my first thought of what was going on. Imagine that kid got they hell scared out of him.

My Army ROTC buddy at A&M said that it was someone with a replica weapon.

I honestly expect one day we'll walk out of the armory with our Garands to practice armed drill, and some kid will have a panic attack and call the cops to report a bunch of gunman taking over the building...

Wow...... swat and police all converge and the guy has a replica.

My Daughter called me later and called it a "TOY" gun.

A toy gun :rolleyes: We had something similar happen here at UTD about 5 months ago. Some one notified the campus police that a student brought a gun into their classroom, the campus police hurry over to the room only to find it was a replica rifle brought to class by a drama student for his drama class. :headscratch:

A&M is a military school. As it turns out it was one of the guys in the Corp. He was carrying one of the drill rifles.
