Two individuals are in the AvA right now, sitting in corsairs over the Japanese base.
There is one more person in there right now, he is AFK.
I upped a Ki to go mix it up, endless BnZ from 13k cons that are unwilling to go flaps out 2v1 in the AvA
I think its sad, time to disable scores in the AvA.

Yeah, I had it out with those twits earlier today. It was hilarious to watch the main dweeb get worked up, and then have his girlfriend jump in to help. :rofl
I figured they'd try to pad the old ego by holding a slow plane vulch over the base, so I just left and went drinking and had a good time with my girl. :cheers:
The real funny stuff is that ever since I spanked 'em all and talked about it here, they've had a serious man-crush on me. They literally can't stop humping my ankle whenever we come in contact. This leads me to believe that they read the BBS, yet they haven't had the stones to respond here.
Can anyone say "shade account". Or perhaps their dweebery has them unable to respond. :noid
Either way, lovin the new map. It's gonna be a fun one.

I agree. Eliminate score count in the AVA. Let the Ho/Ram experts do their thing in the MAs.

I was surprised by how quiet they were in the text buffer...muted maybe? At least one half of their poor behavior equation has improved (for at least one night)...now if the gameplay half could see some improvement...

i'd rather not give them the attention they're looking for here, but i can if ya really want me to. they are someone's shades, although we don't know who yet.
they are not the norm in there. i logged in around 9 last night, was about 10 or so in there. in about an hour, there was 25 in there. no bnz'ing at all.
almost constant drop down drag out down n dirty fighting. sides were way uneven, favoring allies, so a few of us switched to keep the sides even. there was constant teamwork on both sides.

they weren't muted. the ho made mention of all of the "jap planes" hanging out over the jap base. this was around 9 or so when i first logged in....that's when i pm'd you asking if they were up to their normal antics.
was it my imagination, or did they leave just after you and notch hammered em?

I myself could care less for score, and prob think it should go away in the AvA because they dont even post it on main page. Now if you look at my rank in the AvA it is purely an accedent that it is what it is, but then look at my fighter rank and score under that catagory and you will see i do mix it up with the end result of being a pile of parts on the ground. but it still gets under my skin when i have to fight both of them together and i get hoed and lose my engine and dont even get close to a ditch when im about to hit the tamac on my field. well anyways ill be in there today so maybe ill some of yall up today :salute

I don't pay much attention to them anymore, nor do I go out of my way to help them.
Yeah, I don't think they stayed much longer after any competition showed up. :airplane:

honestly if it can be done getting rid of score and rank in AVA could be beneficial in the long run.. The only things I even bother to look at about once a quarter is KTD and hit percentage and I wouldn't be upset if that went away either.

Unless there's a score for trimming tree tops (and I know for a fact that I hold that record :rock), let's get rid of AVA scores (and, hopefully the shady HOing and Ramming types). :aok

They are obviously shade for some people that used to fly in the AvA at an earlier time.

why do you asume that they're old ava members'? especially when the kind of dweebery that they're so good at is rampant in the late war arenas?

Agreed, but you can't keep it from happening. Unless A. a staffer boots them, or B the whole arena smacks them down.
Niether will happen so laugh and go on flying. There's only a couple of them squelch em or ignore em. Maybe I'm getting mellow with age they just haven't got under my skin yet.

well, in a way, the second one can happen.
there are quite a few of us that will not assist themin a fight, and if they join in our fight, we exit to let the con have em for lunch. they also seem to get rather bothered when someone manages to shoot em down during their vulchfest.
it's only a couple of them right now.......

all of my experiences in the AvA have revitalized my love of this game, and i'm sure as hell not gonna let those tards ruin it. besides, if you talk to jaeger1, or any of the other crew, you'll see how hard they're working at this....they all deserve our respect, and help.
and believe me when i tell ya......i can be a reall ultra melon when i want to be.....if i didn't truly believe in this arena, i would not be here talking about it.

I've encountered them and believe I recognized their text style from previous AvA denizens but that may just be a false positive. The particular mental disorders that drive such behavior result in fairly homogeneous behavior patterns among the affected population.
Whether or not they are ghosts from the past, it is obvious the very positive, upward trend of the AvA is disturbing to them because it marginalizes and eventually discards them.
I am very happy to see the AvA starting to embrace its true potential.

Actually I'm just not seeing them as that big of a problem. If I get picked yes it sucks but it's my own fault for not watching my six close enough. I was getting upset by the vultching at one point but again I told myself I'm playing into their hands upping from a base they're flying near. You can counter the things they are doing and it's not like they're the only ones picking and they're not even the only ones vultching. You guys would be surprised at the well respected member that attempted to vultch my landing the other night. One guy's pick is another guy's clearing his buddies six. As far as the smack talk... It reaches fever pitch when they're losing or having a bad night and it's not very creative anyway. So if it's aimed at you, you've gotten under their skin. Ignoring them and not helping them is probably the best solution if you want them to change their act. Giving them all this attention just re enforces their behavior.

If I worried about scores then I would not fly in the AvA, Main Blue, Main Orange, Mid War, Early War, Dueling, or Training Arena. I think that covers it all. Oh and I would not do offline either.

I've often wondered why we have scores/rankings in the AvA. It seems counter intuitive to an arena where the idea is to take chances, be willing to fight from a disadvantage and really push the edge. Score driven arenas are more about results than the experience itself.
I can tell these guys are obsessed with their ranking and seeing their names in the buffer when they land a few kills. The ranking system just feeds their egos and motivates them to run their mouths. It also promotes a type of game play that I personally would rather see left in the mains.

aaahhh..... you sir, are experiencing what htc themselves experience.......give the people what they want, and they change their minds, and squeak that they want something different.
almost forgot....i'll go with what everyone else wants....but i think that the fights will be better without them....and without them those whose names we cannot mention here, will more than likely go away.

actually what frosted them was shutting off the kill messages when you land. if we shut them off for awhile that might deter them too!

i like the idea of rank and score being off, that deters the rank and score queens, i went in last night and the atmosphere was different to me i got ganged 3 times in a row, 2 or 3 guys just flying as a pack ( granted that's a good tactic I'm not saying it's not) , one would engage me ( which at the time i thought was honorable, later ill find out why) and as soon as you had him saddled up BAM dead from his Buddy's lurking 5k above me waiting to dive in when the pick was easy, even had one try to get me when i was landing, total MA mentality it pissed me off and i logged, I'll try again tonight, TT isn't my favorite arena, hordeDaVours in there :lol

whatcha gotta do in that situation, is roll from a different base, and come at em either co-alt, or slightly above. they;ll scatter.
i've come upon fights where i saw 2 or more on a single con, and kept flying, figuring it'd take the con's fun away getting ganged that bad,
on the other side of that, one of my first flights in a ki-61, i took on a corsair, spit5, and......i don't remember what #3 was....but it was a fun fight, although i lost it......

If I see two friendlies on one con, I'll keep going and find another fight - or hang out until it's just the one con left :devil and then engage. If I see a 1v1, I'll hang around and watch if there's nothing else around.
Had fun the other night in a 1v3 - my zeke against two corsairs and sumthin else. Got two of 'em, then while working the third, two others came in and I died. Still had fun though.
Regarding the ganging...
We're getting more people in the AvA :aok but they bring the MA fighting style with them. They'll eventually learn it's more about the fight in AvA than the kills.
