Title: starting a job search
Post by: Stalwart on November 03, 2010, 04:12:54 AM
I'm gearing up to take on the big challenge.

The last time I worked in my industry was almost three years ago.

@ ALL   Thanks for the encouragement guys.  :)

@ oakranger
Intersection of Information Technology and Healthcare.
I'm somewhat specialized in EDI claims processing.

For the last few years, I've worked on and off in the home construction  / remodeling industry.
So this is a big step to get back in the game after such a long time off.

I've already had one recruiter tell me that I'll never work in the industry again.
He's not going to stop me from giving it my best.  :aok

Ok, you should look in Denver, CO.  Also, alone the west coast.

Also a bunch of healthcare IT jobs to be found here in the Birmingham, AL area...TONS of hospitals and a teaching hospital that is one of the best in the SE USA for trauma and major problems. Along with lots of world class orthopedic surgeons in this area as well.

Thanks guys.  I'm focused right here in the Dallas area.  The wife has a good job, and both kids are in good schools.  I'm sure there's work here in my niche.  I just have to find it.  It will help if people in the industry are willing to believe that the American worker is capable of doing more than only what he did yesterday.
