Title: Squad ranking
Post by: speak on November 06, 2010, 01:48:50 PM
I would like to see a squad ranking system, just like we currently have with individuals.   It would be nice to have the top squads recognized at the end of tours.  Just a thought.

We already have that.

We already have that.

Is it posted on the HTC homepage, like the individual stats?  That is what I am proposing, not by going into the scores/stats link.  This would make the top two squads (for each category) some well deserved recognition.

Score-potatoing and getting kudos for it is not that important to me, but hey it's your 15 bucks. :aok

Welcome to the forums and the game new guy.

Listen Sir......  I am a score potato....  I will be the first one to say that score/rank means next to zero in this game.

You also have to remember the slant that gives...... Larger squads will ALWAYS be on top even if the small squad are all aces.

the utter un-importance of rank is what makes AH so fun - no death penalty, no grind, no real ranks that give any benifits = pure pvp win.

which is why peopl who run from fights nevr really made sense to me - so what if you get ganked - one in ten times (or more if you have skillz) you can reverse and pull some amazing wins - which gives me incentive to fight no matter what the odds - unless there is a larger picture.

at least thats how I see it

Not necessarily.

Scores are measured both by quantity and quality........   Quantity makes it impossible for a small squad to out Kill Points / Damage Points to beat a large squad.   :salute

(Assuming we are talking about 2 good squads, one small, one large)

Not necessarily.

Wrong.  Cowboys from Hell typically always won each tour in squad rankings and they were only a 5 man squad.  Take a look at the last year of statistics before Lusche hits you over the head with graphs.  :lol

Sorry, squad ranking is so silly even in my book that I do not have any graphs for that.

But just take a look at last tour's final squad ranking:

Note all that invalid one man squads.

 Been there, done that ;)

but not surprising.

squads that have new players would never rank in the top anything.  they would be penalized for having a new guy that cannot even crash his own plane without help.  so which squad would be the first one to require new members to be skilled instead of just play for the fun of it, just to get that ranked?

A few months ago our CO asked us all to do some GVing to improve our rather poor squad ranking, GVs were our biggest let down and he wanted us to try and get some time in them. After we all had a bit of time in them we made our rank a whole lot worse. That was our last effort at getting a good squad rank.
