Hi Folks
My Question: I've got a "old" Gigabyte GA-686LX Mainboard for PII. With a 233 PII Intel. AGP Slot is present.
Does my Mainboard support a new Graphic Card such as the GeForce? At this moment I got a ATI Rage Pro + Voodoo II. Both are PCI Cards.
This question is because i've heard that my Mainboard doesn't support Voodoo3 Cards. Something about the power supply i think.
Thx & hopin for an Answer

Hi metronom,
Here is a link with your board's specs: http://tcweb.tccomputers.com/Docs/Gigabyte/Pentium%20II%20Boards/ga686lx.htm (http://tcweb.tccomputers.com/Docs/Gigabyte/Pentium%20II%20Boards/ga686lx.htm)
Compare those specs with the specs and requirements of whatever video card you are interested in. You can get that info from the manufacturer's web site.
You need an upgrade plan, metronom.
Consider upgrading your CPU or Motherboard first. I think one of the new Geforce cards would be choked on your system, ie CPU limited, and your mobo may not support all the features.
Cheers, and good luck.
