Title: Bf 109K-4 30mm misfire
Post by: MachFly on November 07, 2010, 05:55:01 AM
We had this problem for the past few years as far as I remember, 1 out of 10 30mm rounds fired from the K4 explodes but does not do any damage. I guess it can be said the these misfires are realistic but knowing that all out engines are 100% reliable, guns never jam, and nothing else ever misfires I assume this was not purposely planed.

I am really hoping this would get fixed in the near future.

thanks

That wasn't the problem, but it was fixed.

Perhaps there was a different problem witch was fixed?

All of the 30mm rounds work fine. This is why I have film of a 262 taking 15+ taters and not dying. Yah

The problem was certain spots on some planes wouldn't record any damage. You could hit a KI84 square in the cockpit and get nothing. They fixed that a while back. I've probably shot more taters than anyone this tour so I think I would notice if something was off. If you have a film than post it.

Sometimes when I hit other planes with taters, I no longer the get the tater hit sprites reliably, and sometimes the plane just disappears, instead of exploding... but I think thats not related directly.

I believe what was "fixed" was that some cowl guns soaked up all the damage, disabling the gun but not also damaging surrounding areas (i.e. engine, cockpit, etc).

That is correct, I had posted a video that showed the issue on an La7 and they fixed it on that plane. They said if you find any other examples, please post them and we will fix them.

Nope. Taters have been buggy for as long as I've been playing. It's usually very infrequent, but a few months ago it was pretty noticeable. They fixed that issue, and I have not had that consistently high tator failage rate since.

i remember them saying it was all because of the planes. the 30mm was just much more noticable due to the lack of rounds shot at the enemy. its in each of the plane's damage model or something and that the bug happens to .50s .303s .30s 20mms 37mms etc

Ah, I though you were blaming the K4 for the lack of dead stuff. You're right, they said that the planes' damage models were directing damage to odd components and not registering the shells, etc.

So you are saying that we have to find a spot on every plane?

Would it work on the offline drones? Would be so much easier and safer.
