Deebs put this little test together for us boys at 71 RAF
we had fun, he`s a ex RAF man in real life..( you might have seen his History posts)
He taught and tested aircraft recognition while in the RAF amongst many other things
he did this for fun, TY Deebs,
thought I`d share it with you fellers
Hope you enjoyed it

Quote from Deebs...A/C recognition is based on perception, memory and a lorra study. I started when I was 12. The way to do it is by studying 3 view BLACK silhouettes. You take note of any distinguishing features (every 'plane has at least one) then test yourself by asking someone to 'flash' you photographs which you (hopefully) identify. Today, I wouldnt know if it was a Boeing 737 or an Airbus to be honest, Im completely out of touch but when I did my Inter Command test (Fighter, Bomber, Coastal and Training) there were 200 pictures. There were 24 competitors. I came third with 196 correct answers. The winner was some ponce from Fighter Command with 199! I was 19...........20/20 vision........now Im 72, eyesight shot to meatball and only got one leg (2 legs are crucial in identifying aircraft)...so there you go.

Uhm...you should probably read through the entire thread before posting. Jimmy seemed to want to end the thread there. At any rate, that's a PBY Catalina.

No, I was replying to the How to post a photo link so the photo, instead of the link shows here on AH. I don't care what kind of ac it is. :neener:
-
ty, I understand it might have been better to show it in the thread, its not too much of a worry though
the pics where not coming from my photobucket, but from deebs and it seemed like a reasonable way to do it
as for the thread to continue.... I think it should if people have a pic to post, its fun
I recommend not posting the entire plane, just a snippet that shows its outstanding feature
its all about fun, so post away and see if you can stump anyone of these experts :D
:salute Jimmy
