I tired to save image on my phone to expand it and it crashed it
-
hmm
from the wing size and the twin contrails it could be a U2 spy plane
But it also looks like a really high DC-3 fromthe look of the tail
-
It's a u2 I blew it up and restored the pixels and it's a u2
-
Dang it...That's what I thought when I took a look at the top picture. It was the bottom one that made me second guess.
Told ya not to mess with dem squirrels man... It's like this fortune cookie thingy I got once, "If you temp a squirrel with a nut, be prepared to be bitten.". :lol
-
I doubt that is a U-2. U-2 is single engine, this has two contrails....DC-9/MD8x
-
It was just weird how it was making tight turns of the city for so long never seen one do that before. Then I couldnt figure out what it was. :noid LOL
-
U2 has two intakes & one exhaust thus one contrail. Not! I repeat NOT a U-2. :salute
-
Can't be a U2.........
EDIT: as the others have already pointed out...... Plus the paint job. :salute
-
I tried to Google it, but only managed to find a handful of UFO stories...
:noid

Since when do DC-9s have straight wings?
More than likely its a Cessna Citation

In your photo, it appears that the contrails are forming slightly in front of the tailplane, which is obscured from view. The engine location of the Cessna justifies the contrail position, and the obscured tailplane (because of the angle and the contrails), would suggest a tail that's obviously higher than the engines.

It is 100% an orange test version of the Nakajima J9Y. Straight wings, two contrails, painted orange, yep definitely the J9Y :old:
Seriously though I believe it's impossible to tell. All guesses are bases on the plane's basic shape (wings and the fuselage), two contrails, the color, and the sky around it

Oh noes, ze Russians are spying on us!

NASA has had a couple B-57s flying around doing high altitude research for a while. They're based at Ellington Field.

I'm with Golfer on this one. Based on the photos and the flightpaths posted, you just got a look at a B-57. :aok

It's funny that I found this thread tonight. My dad just got done telling me that when he was little, he saw a huge 6 engine bomber fly over his house around the year 1955. He told his mom and dad, and they didn't think anything of the sort existed at the time. After a bit of research, we found out it was a B-36 Peacemaker, which is a pretty damned cool push prop bomber...

Sorry for the hijack, just thought it was interesting.
As for the picture, I don't see engines on the wings, I'd go with a small private jet as well, particularly because of how close the trails are together.

Look closer on the first picture, I can see the outline of 2 large engines on the right wing along with the fact the thie wings look alot longer compared to the fueselage than the citation does

Yep, RB-57.
Chinese Air Force probably leased it from Google. :D

first pictures that where posted looks like a T6 or Extra 300
-
RB-57, yup, & it ain't orange either. That's bad photo quality without filters reflecting orange sunset. I'm not talking about the grainy photo, but the filtering. IMO

Maybe?
-
Beckams?
-
If you zoom right in I think you'll see the shadows of two engines in the wing, like the meteor but closer to the body
Avanti
-
it aint any of these, its the remnants of the last car that broke down on chuck norris.
lol
cool plane btw. has major sex appeal.
