I just bought a brand new unopened Lock On Platinum series on e-bay for $6.00. I've never played any of the Lock on games and was wondering what people thought about it. Watching the mail box.............

for that price you will be getting good value for money. Even crashing jets into bridges repeatedly will keep you entertained for longer than your money's worth. :aok

I had lock on gold, it's a great game once you figure everything out. It's a lot like falcon 4.0 in that you really have to learn how to operate the avionics and weapons systems, most of the things in the cockpit are clickable because there's so many functions they could never map it all to a keyboard.

Lock-On does not have clickable cockpits and is not as detailed, but the DCS series has all of the above.

Platinum is a good addition and for that price its a ton of fun. I think I got mine for $15 or so just a couple of months ago from another guy on SimHQ. I also have the A-10C demo from DCS and don't play Lockon much any more.

I hope you've got Flaming Cliffs 2 installed and patched. It comes in the box.
It's the latest in the series and thus the most updated.
