The Seattle area school football refs used pink whistles a few weeks ago and were reprimanded.
ctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and its official color--pink--is everywhere. National Football League players have been donning pink gloves and cleats, and Sports Illustrated recently published its logo in that fleshiest of colors. But when some Kenmore-area high school referees dared to follow suit by using pink whistles during a football game on Thursday (in concert with cheerleaders, band members and seemingly everyone else in the stands), their governing body, the Washington Officials Association threw the flag.
"They chose not to ask for permission," complained WOA Chair Todd Stordahl to a King 5 news reporter, before adding that the officials may be suspended.
The game that drew the attention was at Inglemoor High School in Kenmoore, where the Inglemoor Vikings took on the Garfield Bulldogs in a much-anticipated homecoming match-up.
It's important to note that the game was a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, one of the country's leading breast cancer awareness groups. And the refs had vowed to donate their game checks to the foundation.

:rofl coaches and trainers. They know so match about the game. Matter of fact, they know everything there is to know about the game. Only one thing they could never do good was play it :lol So, they flex their muscles at kids. Big man there :lol

hell, our team memebers all had pink on them somewhere for october games and even into early November.
-
That's ridiculous, these coaches some how thought it made the players look like sissies so at half-time they spent the whole time bashing them about it and tried to make them take it off and this kid refused and decided to stand up for a cause he believed in and now he's being punished for it, I hope this kid wins his lawsuit and they have to pay him, especially since he said any money is going to breast cancer charities.

I thought it was incredibly lame seeing the NFL players wearing pink shoes, made me wonder if I was watching a 49er's home game at first. It's fine that the NFL pledged to help in the fight against breast cancer and all those players pledged to donate money but keep the pink crap off the field and football uniforms. It's a man's game and there is no pink in a man's game.
ack-ack

It's not saying you support it, it's showing you support it. If you don't like it, don't watch nfl games.

men aren't threatened by a little bit of pink.

Are you serious? I really hope your just being sarcastic or something because it seems odd that the color pink would some how threaten your manhood while watching an NFL game.

maybe to u, but there are a lot of other people who aren't insecure about their manhood and to them it is simply another color.
Also wasn't another story going on about some ref's getting fired or something for using pink whistles during a game?
