JG-3 Udet will be operating as a AvA squadron.We are starting small with just four members. Our intent is to fly Axis in all setups providing an opposing force for the folks that enjoy the Allied rides.
Of course we will fill in when needed to even numbers on both sides. All of us have memberships with squadrons in other arenas at the moment and as it stands JG-3 will be dedicated only to AvA operations and hoping to see other squads both Allied and Axis begin operations in the arena as well. If any of you have any interest in joining us or flying with us just say the word.

Mail moves slow in Canada? Funny for some reason I cannot remember you as being in either squad. I can only picture you as being in the Gunfighters and on the AvA staff. In other words a total scab. :D

heck, I have no idea why you can't remember me being in either squad? I started off in the MA 412 Mustangs as Vruth, then 13 TAS, then 3JG/2 as FORK - then that went sideways... I'm won't J E S T E R you why that happened. Then onto JG-54. Then a big ole bear and an old fart, I mean man, recruited me into the Gunfighters. That was um... 6,7 years ago I recon.
Maybe ya'll just need to have a shot of JD (black label) to get the ole brain wheels movin again? Or is that askin too much?

I just started to get a good feel for the 109G-14, been flying that last couple of nights in AvA.. I have actually been considering myself a US plane set pilot, mainly flying the F4U's.. But I think I have reached a point where I need to move on and start learning some new stuff..
So I am kind of forcing myself to learn the German rides now, perhaps I get good enough in one to join into this squad one day.. :cheers: :salute

I just started to get a good feel for the 109G-14, been flying that last couple of nights in AvA.. I have actually been considering myself a US plane set pilot, mainly flying the F4U's.. But I think I have reached a point where I need to move on and start learning some new stuff..

Bug and I are former VF-17 and VF-10 Corsair guys. Bug flies the 109 extremely well. Ranger does very well in it too. I'm very challenged by it at the moment but and determined to learn it. I've never let my lack of skills stop me from flying anything before. :D It's way different from the Corsair to me at least, but it's a fun bird to fly. Don't wait until you think you're good enough. If interested take the plunge. Save for Bug and Ranger the rest of us are novice 109 guys. I misspent my former Luftwaffe days in FW-190s. :D
Also I'd like to add this is an AvA only squadron, you don't have to leave any Main Arena squad memberships you may have. We just ask you try and participate in the AvA during squad functions whenever possible.

And Bug flies anything extremely well, atleast from what I've seen and experienced from him.. I still have a lot to learn to get where he is, that's for sure! I am sure Ranger knows his plane too, I've never fought him tho.. Not that I can recall anyway. :salute

I went from 109's and went to the Corsair (still teach both). The latter 109's are definitly a veterans plane to get the most out of it. I'm still learning with the K4 myself and it's quirks :lol.

Well i took all the pointers you gave me that one night and flown both the 109 and F4U a lot and enjoy the heck out of them! I get a kill now and then too so its worth the effort

Glad to hear Grumpy, both are fun but busy planes to fly, either one is very rewarding. If I made the game more fun for someone, then I did my job :aok

i enjoy the constant attention needed for flaps and throttle during a good fight.... Not just another jerk the stick and float like a UFO plane...... sorry if i offended any spit pilots with that comment.... :bolt:

What we are doing is trying to have a squad presence in AvA to bring in others. We deliberately chose Axis as it seems in most cases the majority prefer to fly allied.
We have also capped the squad at eight members despite the fact that we have more interested in joining.
Last night was our first squad night. We fielded 7 members. As Shifty said we divided the squad with 4 flying a fighter sweep and 3 flying a jabo mission, by the time we finished the jabo run, the numbers had evened up, and the 2nd sortie was a fighter sweep.
This is how we will likely continue to run our Wed squad nights, 2 squad missions and then free-play.
Everyone in the squad is or has been involved in building the arena in some fashion.
If you want to talk about what has been accomplished, we would all have to be included in that.

During the half hour last night that we flew our 2 squad missions, it was our 8 Axis vs. 7 Allied, hardly arena destroying. :rolleyes: We had 4 flying jabo while 4 covered. To not cause too big a disturbance with the waawaas, we only bombed fuel at one base. You poor thing. :( Each Wednesday at 9pm EST we will be flying these squad ops for a bit before "free flight". We invite allied-minded players to come in and oppose us. Heck, if you guys freelancing in the AvA would get off yer butts & form your own squad with same squad nite & time, we could have us a frikkin blast!! But no, it's easier to come here & cry about a few players who have formed a squad to fly 2 missions A WEEK! Are you serious?! Do you really have nothing else to gripe about or enjoy in the game? Sorry griefers, but we plan on staying together & doing our Wednesday ops thing because we had an absolute blast & fly very well together.
Nothing stopping any other player from starting an Allied squad to have just as much fun as we are. Being in an AvA squad has no bearing on your MA squad. So who's gonna man up & get the Allied ball rolling?

I did very little if anything that gave the recent success of the AvA, jimson deserves a huge amount of credit for pushing many ideas and such through.
