Exactly what the title says. During the day, everything is just fine, but at night everything goes to crap. This even happens on XBOX live. I live in an apartment so im using their internet service. Any ideas?

Yeah it's probably everyone in the apartment complex using the internet at once. Likely their internet connection isn't strong enough to handle everything, or they are having router problems.
Sounds like you might need to consider going with your own service... even dialup will work with AH but probably not the Xbox...

What service does your building use? My neighbourhood is held hostage to the whims of Verizon as the sole ISP in the area, and our internet connection is very unrelaible as a result. Of course, the second you complain to someone and threaten to discontinue the use of their service, everything starts running smoothly again. :noid

If it's cable Internet, the more people using it, the more bandwidth is sucked up. Same thing happens in a neighborhood fed by the same cable ISP. If I were you, I'd complain to the ISP and/or apartment management to get a second (or third) cable feed into the building.

This is what I suspected as well. It is almost as if at a certain time, the internet signal gets cut in half every night. It's not bad enough to cause a disco, but it does make pretty much anything on a console game unplayable.

What exactly do you mean by "internet signal"? Is this wireless?

ok now that i got it out of my system back to your problem.
i cant remember where i saw one so you will need to look online for it, but you can get a signal booster to raise the connection signal from the isp connection coming into your building. your isp signal becomes weaker as it travels further from the outside source and loses more signal strength the more times it has to be split inside any residence/building.
i just spent a few minutes looking and i cant find what i was looking for. dont have time to keep hunting right now, but you should be able to find one. if i could even remember the proper name of it im sure you would find one easily but im having a Rook moment :neener:
