I know this is going to sound crazy but it's actually a serious wish. These poor young guys (new blood vital to the survival of the game) come here and immediately get trashed.
I know many of them act badly, act like little kids, but they start with a strike against them because of their "squeaker" voices.
Don't try to tell me it's always their attitude and you have no such prejudice, I'm speaking from first hand experience, I know I don't like it when my WWII fantasy starts sounding like "recess".
It's unfair, but that's just the way it is.
If HTC were to include some sort of voice modulating option in the VOX system http://www.screamingbee.com/product/MorphVOXJunior.aspx these young warriors would have a chance to be accepted into the community or not solely on their attitude and merits.

One of my squaddies have a headset that lets you change your voice. He sounds like darth vader when he uses it so maybe the squeakers would sound normal using it.

It's a real problem.
HTC and the community needs the new generations, but how many have we driven away?
Some based just on the sound of their voice.

+1 I think its an OK idea iv heard so many people like me (in there early teens) get talked to like oh your voice is so high and people calling them squeakers for nothing. OK so you say your just kidding but... do they know that? NO they do not. i think if we do this or at least stop people from saying things like that we may have even more guys playing (getting more fun fun funding to the game). my user id is cooldued only for the reason i couldn't think of anything ells,(I know the all the people I meat know but I'm not cool) I'm use to being made fun of and beat up (so i get over it). but some people are more sensitive.

I'm on the fence for this one and I see where your coming from
BUT
some (not all) people from about 14 years and under can really get under the skin and really block up the vox and/or range channels
while there is a mission going on or just a general furball... Yes it maybe help them become more accepted amoung the community but
their attitude must change also other wise they will be stuck in the same situation...

I think the adults need to realize they're playing a video game and relax about it.
Kids are kids.
Would this voice changing software also have the ability to filter the words and rants comprised of curse words that most parents wouldn't want their kids to hear?

when the squeakers are a problem is young kids that monopolize the range channel. and that's when the jokes begin.

That's almost impossible to do currently. First off, you'd have to write something as complex as Dragon Naturally Speaking transcription software, then you'd have to have each individual person using vox to train the software how to recognize their voice properly, there'd still be errors where things would get missed, there'd be much heavier increased system resources needed to do it, vox communications would be delayed per transmission until the system determine's what's allowed or not, and you'd have constant arguments over what's a swear, what's not, and the softare itself getting confused.
For instance, some people consider bellybutton a swear word. Some people don't. Include bellybutton in filtering, and now you're likely to also block words like assume.
If Vox is big concern, instead of trying to force the rest of the world to block themselves from children's ears, instead, block the children's ears from the rest of the world (i.e. turn off vox).

I agree, Knite. I asked it as a loaded question, because it's not feasible when the answer is what you described (turning off vox).
