It really just boggles my mind what some school administrations/boards say and then quickly reverse their decision when its obvious to everyone else in the public they made a horrible mistake.
-
Heh, I don't think anyone's gonna mess with him now

wtf?
I thought this was America. How can anybody have a problem with somebody representing America without an immediate response of "if u don't like it, get the f out!"
seriously other kids were complaining that the flag of the country in which they live in offends them.
those kidz be trolling
-
I'm guessing if there were some big green and white stripes.....no complaints would have been forthcoming
-
Nice to see so many adults rally to the support of a respectful young man. I wish him well.

in all honesty, i don't think the other kids really were complaining. i think the school used that as an excuse.
-
know what i wish? that someone would post a video of the bikers, and of the air force fly over...if they really did it.
this BTW, is the kind of stuff that gives me hope in our future, considering how cynical i usually am.

I think so too, especially when the "excuse" was that some might find the flag rascist.
ack-ack

Honestly this would most likely happen at my school as well. For certain reasons of course, kinda of weird reasons though. Like you'll distract drivers with it they'll get in a car crash. It could fall off and hit someone. The basic **** a principal or teacher would give you.

on an unrelated subject to the op, but on the line of what you just said.........
i opened my shop 2 1/2 years ago. i put a portable sign out front, with info, telling them "john is back" since i worked at that location for 10 years, then my hours, the fact i'm a napa care center, etc.
then one day, i realized i didn't have my phone number on there.....so i added it. in 3 days, the township zoning officer was there telling me i couldn't have that sign. 2 reasons'
1) portable signs are illegal in our town(i kinda thought they were but pushed my luck)
2) nothing with my phone number can be out there.
according to the zoning dude, it was because someone may pull away from the intersection while writing my phone number down and cause an accident.

There are some weird laws and rules out there. I live in Alaska and take Law Studies, and one day a guest speaker came in and said one of the laws of Alaska is. You can't push a Moose out of a moving plane. Just goes to show if someone does it once and it's dangerous even if it's in the whole history of the planet they'll make a rule or law after it.

You seem to have a problem with California. Although I would like the idea of Cal being it's own country, with some of the best schools in the nation, and by itself one of the strongest economies in the world.
Stop basing things off of what you hear on Faux News, they rarely tend to do much intellectually.

IN!

yup, i wish all the other states would stop taking our money and talking crap about california. even with the "high" taxes we have in california, I still pay less than in states that have "lower" taxes like north carolina, which is where i lived many years. funny thing, first year i moved from ca to nc, i paid 10 times, that's right ten times, move in state taxes in nc than i did in california.

This is the kind of kid I wish Australia had more of.
I share a similar opinion with him that loving your country and respecting your soldiers/civil servants is what being a patriot is all about. And I think that the Principal of that school should have been told quite plainly to go shove his ruler somewhere dark. If the people in the school find the flag of the nation providing them shelter from the evils of the world offensive, then they have no place in the respective nation.
If you dont like it here, go away. Thats what I say to all of these cases.
This kid is the man!

I know, I mean like how is a person supposed to act like a normal human being growing up around this stuff. "No, you can't put the American flag up on your bike for veterans day it's to American. Half these principals wish they never became a principal or stuck with it to long.

The govt. is. But we still have 3 extremely large ports, most large technology businesses (Google, Ebay), and a lot of other things. Would say more, but I might already be pushing the envelope a little bit and do not want to be skuzzified.
