Anyone have any idea why you can't enable side band addressing with GF2 mx cards?
I've heard it can cause problems to use SBA but am curious why nVIDIA has disabled it and also HOW they did it.
I've enabled it in the BIOS and drivers but Powerstrip shows it unavailable.

It's likely due to issues with different chipsets handling SBA a bit differently, and possibly not very well. They likely just disabled it to avoid problems they found in testing with different mainboards.
I think it's largely irrelevent anyway since the real limitation in these cards is memory bandwidth, not bus speed. The risk vs. reward proposition is not good, so it wouldn't make sense for nVidia to enable it.
