I used the McAfee remove program and it seemed to work.

When you really want to do a deep clean removal of all traces of a program, use "CCleaner". It gets all the "crap" out and is safe to use. I've been using it for around three years now and it is ok on Win 7 also. Go to Download.Com and just type "CCleaner" in the search bar and read the info, oh, and it's free........ :aok

The most effective way I found to remove Norton from a system was too reformat. That was several years ago. I haven't used Norton since.

I have norton on my cp. Whats so bad about it. The only thing i've noticed is it does scans a lot.

Run nonav and it will remove any traces of that Norton crap that is on your system. I also found that using common sense will prevent an infection of Norton or McAfee in the first place.

You can configure how often it does scans.
The problem with norton is that it is very resource hungry, and not even close to the most effective AV program out there anymore. Years ago, it was great but today it is more bloatware than anything.
