As a euro who often doesnt get on until shortly after the cap kicks in (6pm my time) this looks like a good compromise :salute

4pm CST = 10pm London
Good compromise, nice job.

Cool, it has precisely 0 effect on me, but I hope the Euros are helped by it.
One thing that leapt off the page- 5 minutes warning (now, granted, it's at a scheduled time) but isn't that a bit short notice for the buff flyers?
Wiley.

It's a 5 minute warning to the switchover plus 10 more minutes before you're kicked so you get 15 minutes total warning to land. Plus, since it happens automatically every day on a schedule it's pretty easy to plan for.

For example, what happens on Titanic Tuesday will carry through to the next Titanic Tuesday.
If I'm reading that right, TT maps will come up exclusively on TT? And that means there is a kind of seperate "TT war" - which would probably drag on for months at a time, as it's extremely difficult to win/reset a map on TT's anyway?
-
Pyro, FYI: there are a couple of typos (sorry) in the announcement on the front page. They should be:
allotted
persistent
I'm not usually a grammar policeman but since these are on the front page you might want to fix them.
FWIW,

Thanks for the heads up Wraith.
That's correct Lusche but I don't know how long the war arc on TT will take. It's been almost impossible to reset because you only have 1 day to do it and the next week you have to start from scratch. With it being its own arena now, we can also tailor the victory conditions to suit it better.

That's not entirely correct. You had a whole week to win TT map, as it was not being reset when TT ended, it was just renamed LWO and was kept up until next week. Map was only changed at the beginning of each TT.
So we had one week to win the war on this mao, which still did not happen very often.
With the current victory conditions the new TT setup would surely last for many weeks/months at a time, which would probably be perceived as being stale by many players.

Pyro, do you think that 15 minutes total is enough warning time till the shutdown? Personally, I feel this is a little on the low side. Most successful sorties will take longer than 15 minutes. Can a 30 minute warning be added too?
Of course, if the boot is going to happen at the exact same time every day automatically, it should not matter, as players will get a feel for when it will happen. But if it's going to be a manual boot with some disparity, then more warning should be given.

you do realize that "It will be the same time every day" means you're expected to trip over the chord at the same time every day.

I was in favor of this change until I realized it will make it easier for you to get in, now I'm against it. :devil

Great Job :aok
do the clocks in the tower tell same time for all?
just a thought that if there was a mark on the clock face to show arena switch time, you could keep track quite easily of when the switch over is coming
just a thought, could be handy
great job though

Excellent idea
Helm ...out

It will be the same time every day.
Is there a downside to giving a 30 minute warning also then? I know we are a bunch of needy babies, but I think a lot of players would appreciate it. :D

Cool idea but I believe the clock is on an accelerated time.

Grizz, they will survive, you can come out of the rain now.....

I can just picture Skuzzy leaning back in his office, feet up on the desk, puffing on a fine cigar, using the outdated server schedule printout as an ashtray, and drinking a beer wile cruising the forums now all day.

How about we give Grizz what he obviously is pushing for here, an in-game Mickey Mouse Cockpit Alarm Clock.

Would like to see a 10 min notice, and 10 get back home. I find myself (in US) slying sometimes deep. I watch the clock, but in the heat of (shyte) Im not looking at the clock. Just letting you know my thoughts. Otherwise kewl compromise.

Has anyone ever read the book "If you give a mouse a cookie"?
