Post by: redman555 on November 20, 2010, 10:58:30 AM
Not bad at all, very well made. Maybe 9/10.  Sucks how have to wait till july to find out what happens lol.  If you go I highly suggest you get there at least 90 min before movie starts.  It was PACKED last night.

Never read a single word of any book, nor watched a single second of any movie.   It'll stay that way.

We made the kids read the books before they could see any of the movies.

They absolutely loved the books AND the movies.

I have not read any of the books, but thought that the all of the movies were instant classics. :rock

I saw it last night, Overall I liked it, however I felt some things were drawn out longer than they needed to be. I think they could have shortened parts of this movie and made the entire last book into one long movie.

Thought the acting was superb. Death eaters are worse than noobs flying k4s though. Can't hit anything worth beans.

It was about money, they knew if they drag it on and make 2 parts they would make twice the money.

I'll reserve opinion until I actually see the movie but I've been griping for the last three they cut too much out of the books.  I have no problem waiting till July.  But I'm weird and stuff.

Hopefully you didn't forget to get your manhood back from the Manhood Check (next to the Coat Check) on your way out the theater.    :aok

Lol, actually this is the first Harry Potter ive seen in theater, and theres only three reasons I went.  Emma Watson is hot now (not with her shaved head), and since its the last two I kinda wanna see em since its going to rap it up.

Why charge people once when they'll pay twice?

2 problems, 1 long movie, unless it was over 240 minutes long would not do the final book justice. I'm actually pretty happy that they are doing this, so they can make sure they screw up the 7th book.

All in all it was a good film, enjoyed it most of the time. There were a few moments I started to feel it dragged out, but then there was some sudden action out of nowhere that kicked up the pace again.  :aok
I do not regret this trip to the theatre, these kind of special effect films are always best at a theatre. Probably going to buy it when it gets out on blu ray anyway tho.. I like to collect films of all kind.

I thought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows was really good.

Is it just me or did Emma Watson(Hermoni Granger) get realy hot and has Harry Potters voice drop a bit?

Ok.

I love Harry Potter, because I grew up with it. And I have read every book cover to cover god knows how many times. And I can say that doing it in two parts is the best way, purely because you would need too just to get the story right, otherwise you would screw it up royally. This film was a masterpiece, absolutely gorgeous piece of film, a classic. And the second bit will be better.

And yes, Emma is absolutely stunning

Anyone think it went a little 'Lord of the rings'?

An amulet that affects the wearer with negative emotions, making one of the group break away then rejoin when the lead character is in big trouble. The amulet can't be destroyed by normal means, you have to go on a quest (through many different types of terrain) to find the thing that will destroy it.

got deja-vu watching that bit.

don't forget an object that will bring you light, when all other sources of light fail you.

I read all the books up until the 5th one i think.  I saw it over the weekend and it was a very good movie.  Surprisingly, it wasn't packed.  It was crowded of course but there were definitely seats available.

Well a rumor going around, there making a 9th Harry Potter after Deathly Hollows part 2. I heard J.K. Rowling is making another book. In Harrys married, more older life. Eather way I don't think the Harry Potter series ends after part 2. After all Rowling is one of the most wealthiest writers. With her millions of fans begging for another Harry Potter book. Plus I love the Harry Potters series, life just won't seem right with out it.

Rowling's sampled a bit of everything, just read the books and it is obvious, love them still regardless.

What gave you that idea? Please find out what did and end its existence.

may be stating the obvious here, but the reformed ministry of magic in this film seems strikingly similar to nazi Germany. the guards even looked like SS troops.

great film, though

The world is ending in 2012 anyways so it doesn't really matter.

The first Harry Potter books came out well over a decade ago- a good portion of us in the late teens/early twenties pretty much learned to read (or at least learned to enjoy reading) from them. On top of everything else, there's a nostalgia aspect to the series.
I went and saw the newest film at the request of a few of my friends a couple of days ago, I thought it was very good.

I think I've mentioned this before but before Squid could read she read the first two books to him then I took over on the third.  After that he could read for his self.  But I think reading the books to and at the same time as him and having a mutual interest as he grew made he and I unusually close in this day and age.  I paid for him and two of his friends to go with us Friday.  We had a good time.

No it can't end until I've seen "Avengers", "The Hobbit", "Star Trek 2", "The Dark Knight Rises", and the new "Spider-Man" movie.
