it was a torpedo bomber...
(http://channeldash.org/myPictures/Swordfish_K8287_4H_profile.gif) was a bi-plane, I think early or mid war, low or med armor, and slow.
-
No chance until the B29 is finished, because of it's collosal impact in the air war (systematic burning and nuking excepted)
What did the Stringbag accomplish? Bismark schmismark

The Stringbag sank more tonnage of Axis shipping than any other torpedo bomber.
It would, however, be a complete sitting duck in AH.

I know, I was being pedantic, fascetious and belligerent :salute

I'm just wondering what kind of fabric medium armor is? Low aka no is accurate though.
The Swordfish sank more than the Avenger? Wow.

We don't know how long the development list is :devil

i think b-29 will be started in mid 2011 June - September (its just a thought) :aok

Those RN Fleet Air Arm Swordfish crews were about as hard as you can get. Everyone thinks the Japs invented the Kamikaze, the fact is the Japanese monoplanes were much more likely to get through to their targets than the old stringbags. This one should be included (at some point) simply out of respect. :salute

speaking of kamakazi we should have that lol.

Let's not and say we did.

are there even ships to sink in WWI arena? having the need to even need a swordfish?

I don't see a mention of the WWI arena anywhere in this thread? :headscratch:
-
lol I think because it has two wings no cannon and doesnt go 450mph he thinks it is ww1

ha..haha..ha thats funny it was W...W...2 not 1 only thing it would be for IF it was a ww1 plane would be sinking subs just off shore

It's hard enough to do a torpedo run on a CV already with a TBM, You'd be lucky to get within 2k of it in the swordfish. :rofl

its a Pre-war torpedo bomber for the brits in '39-'44(I think xD I do not know much about the fairy swordfish other than it had 1 machine gun, could carry a 2000lb torpedo, or 2000lbs of bombs, thats beyond the obvious bi-plane config. and the 3 seats)

No surprise, really. Unlike the Avenger, the Swordfish was equipped with torpedoes that were actually functional.

correction: early model Avengers
-
:old: Yay Swordfish!
-
It would be fun to tinker with the Swordfish in the EW and SEA's, but otherwise they will be cannon fodder for %99 of the AH plane line up. The Swordfish could probably beat the B5N, and that is it. ;)

+1
and the first +1 is TOMCAT21s

Actually the first round of torps that were dropped by the Swordfish crews attacking Bismark had faulty fuses and all failed to detonate.
The fact that they had been mistakenly fired at a British cruiser could be put down to pure luck, both that they didn't sink the British ship, and that the guys found out that the fuses were faulty before the main event.

I tried TB ing for a whole day. I eather got 5" or killed by ack. But managed to get 28 ship kills. 1 CV 4 CAs and rest DDs. If there was a torpedo bombing squad that I could join. That would be way more effective than 1 person. But nobody I know would really want to do that besides me. But I'm to lazy to create one.

Your lack of knowledge of anything related to planes is simply stunning and I already feel a loss of brain cells just reading one of your posts. Please do us a favor and read something about these planes before you make another post.

I'm just wondering what kind of fabric medium armor is?
I'm trying to figure out how a plane that entered service with the Fleet Air Arm entered service in 1936 could be considered a "mid-war" airplane.

he didn't say mid-war did he? he said "medium ARMOUR"

Yes I did and I was trying to say early and mid war.
You know what Ack-Ack I'm sick of this, if you want to bug me after I spell or say something wrong just DON'T! Ignore it don't read it, I don't care, just leave me alone. Get over it its not that big of a deal. can i just live with my dyslexia, instead of you telling me things that I have to cram in my head just to say it one time, then (if i do say it again) next time I say it I forget what you bugged me about, it would just start over. All I'm doing is standing up for my self.

this has nothing to do with your bad spelling, you make a post about a plane that is riddled with incorrect information and you're offended when you are corrected? Here is a hint, or rather a smack upside your squeaker head with a clue stick....if you don't want people chiming in on one of your threads then 1) Don't post or 2) crack open a book and do some reading and actually learn something about the planes you claim to enjoy before making a post.
Stop being a spoiled little squeaker.
