I need help hitting in the A-20/Boston of all things.  :huh   Can (and do  :devil) bomb GVs in almost anything that carries a bomb but don't know where to aim with that sucker.  Need to increase my "PM Whine/Bomb" %.

What planes will be used in this clinic?

I recommend the P-51 for the clinic but it will work with any fighter that carries a bomb. Once you get the basics down you can apply them to your favorite aircraft and attack profile.

Caldera,

I can help you with the A20 if you want, it's my primary mudmover/heavy fighter.  Send me a PM and we can spend some dive bombing time with it in the TA, especially anti-wirbe dive bombing tactics.  We can do some dogfighting work with it too if you wish.  If you can't tell I really like A20's :D

I'll do my best to be there!  I had to sort of half figure out how to dive bomb on the fly during the Philippine Phandango scenario.  It'd be nice to have another reliable tool in the bag for the once or twice a year I need it.   :D

Would like to attend the clinic (can't hit a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle),no can do though. Who should I contact
that can train M-W? Also-AA is killing me! Am ex-FA learning the -38. (sweet ride as opposed to what I flew in FA
for the 'other side') ahem...Any help and training would be appreciated. Thx.  :joystick: (grin)

Chisum,

Send me a PM and we can get a time setup for you to practice with me.  Most of the work is just learning the site picture, and then work on getting consistent angles to your target.  Once that is figured out you can adjust your drop point by knowing how your angle and speed effect your hitting point.  Once we get that down we can work on anti-wirbe tactics.  The bad news is I'll be out of town or booked until the 8th, if that's ok send me a PM.

Just a couple of films I made a couple of years ago for my squad on how to drop bombs and fire rockets. They should still work on the player you have.

Tool Man-thx for films;will study them often for speed management vs angle of attack;plus sight picture.
Still clueless as to where the ground targets actually were(?) I'm missing something somewhere...
In summation:ex-FA;seasoned veteran  :old: newbie AH;flustrated kid  :furious (lol) Again, thx for your response.
Will now explore new ways to kill myself.(lmao)

Chisum your very new and might not have the maps loaded that the film was taken from. Once you load the film it may say map not found and give you the name of that map not found.

maps can be found here http://www.hitechcreations.com/downloads-terrains-art.html

Here is a link to more films that talk about Throttle management. http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,301158.15/topicseen.html

Again, you may not have all the maps loaded to view them just yet. Normally maps load by themselves as you enter n arena with a new map on it thats not in your Terrain folder. To view them you may need to manually download the maps and place them in your Terrain folder named AHiiTERR

I would so love to do that but that works out to be 0730 Monday my time and I will be on the way to work. Do these clinics have any Aussie friendly equivalents? Also is it possible that trainers can quote times in GMT or zulu so us non US folk can more easily work out what it what please. ET means call home to most of us :)

Excellent bomb and rocket sights. Many of us from the Aces & 8's and Righteous Vengeance used them to train with.

Use the dash as a point of reference to fire rockets at ack or hangers from distance    FAVORITE 1

Use top of brackets for ack, middle of bracket for low G tracking rounds and the very bottom for dropping bombs on hangers    Fav 2 beginner or all around sight

Figure this one out for yourself by what i've already said..plus its good for taking those long shots on planes while level

We'll work something out Baxter. We could set up some 1 on 1 training on a weekend.

I'll be there.
Been playing since the week this game came out and I have never really gotten into it, but as of late I've been a lone defender (in the air) against enemy GVs and I need to become more versatileeeeeeee

I'd also like to give thanks for the clinic! I was consistently able to destroy bomber hangers in one pass at the end of the class with the P51D, 2 x 1000lbs and 6 rockets.

Practice, practice and more practice. I took 40 to 50 sorties today getting that sight picture together and that was for just one altitude, dive angle and speed. I found a little cheat from all the practice was that the outer circle of my gunsight was where I needed to place on the target for my most consistant runs.

Thanks again FLS for a great clinic,

-thud

It was super helpful to me, I can say for certain that I'm a 100 percent better dive bomber than I ever was before.   I can pick out and hit my target consistently now.  Thanks FLS!

Grr  :furious

Now I'm really upset that I missed it. If somebody doesn't mind passing along what they learned sometime that'd be great.

Thank you very much! I was unable to attend (Despite having a note-card taped to the side of my monitor since the day after this thread was created). Even had the date, time, field, vox.. Time zone! Sheesh, and I still forgot!  :lol

Anyway.. Thank you for taking to time to run the clinic, and for putting up the film.  :salute
