The restoration of a flyable de Havilland Mosquito is on track for completion in spring 2011. With remains rescued from a Canadian farm, the aircraft is undergoing an extensive rebuild in New Zealand and would be the only flying copy of this WW II fighter-bomber in the world...
The rest of the article, more pics and a video in the link.

Excellent find! I am glad to hear this. I believe there was another Mossie that flew back in the '90s but crashed or had engine failure? :headscratch:
-
You can follow the restoration from start to present at the website of the guys restoring it. Some other good restorations there as well

The RAAF aircraft I got to see last year when I was back home. One of only a very few surviving Mosquito's that actually was used in missions during WWII.

Very Cool. Ive come to fly the Mossie most of the time in the MA now. Its just fun to fly and when your as bad a shot as me you need those 4 20mm in the nose.
I wish I could find the website again I used to go to. It had published actual WW II flight reports from Mossie squadrons. Interesting reading, ill post it if I find it again. :rock :aok

Jolly, that's Jerry Yagen's collection. The Mossie in the original post is his. It's being restored elsewhere, as are the Ki-61 and 39, both in Australia I believe.

Costal command had the most exciting daytime mosquito raids - starwars style :devil
Even some dogfights vs. 109s and 190s in which they performed quite well, especially considering that dogfighting was not the focus in the training of these pilots.
