Title: something no one is saying
Post by: CAP1 on November 28, 2010, 01:00:19 AM
ok.......i think we're all neglecting something fairly important.

tonight jaeger1 logged in, just in time for some poop to be happening in the arena......and he had to don the blue admin hat rather quickly.

made me think......he, ranger, oldman, fork, and a whole bunch of others worked their tulips off making this arena what it is.

they kept making new maps, new terrains, doing research to give us decent historical setups, they listen to all of our suggestions, they give us different weather conditions.
they took risks turning off icons, and giving us night time.

then we repay them, by making them have to don their admin hats, rather than come in and enjoy the arena they work so dam hard to build for us.

i think it's about time we thank them all for doing this. without this arena, this game would be a lot less to me, as the ma play was gettin under my skin.

i see a lot of you others are hooked on this arena too, and it's a good crowd we've got here.

so......Jaeger1 and crew(too many of ya for me to type all the names out tonight)

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS ARENA A FUN PLACE TO FLY SIRS!!!!!!!

Cap

I have to agree with you a 100% on this these guys Bust their butts off and alot do not realize that I do not think they even get compensated for the amount of time they put into creating maps, making skins and trying to make game play alot more enjoyable for people. I know when I did admin work for Air Warrior we had some Perks but I am not sure what they offer here but probably not worth the hassle.

So to Jaerger1, Jimson,USRanger Oldman and everyone else behind the Scenes here

A Very Big Salute Goes out to ya

I had my first go last night in the AvA, and that sure was fun. I was flying German Iron, and battling Oldman and SUNNY1 a few times. I will say that was more fun than in the few missions than I had probably the past month in the MA. <S> to all to make the AVA what it is, as I think I found myself a new main home.

P.S. The no Icon thing is outstanding, and your SA really has to be on par to keep from getting your butt shoot off. <S> to all

On behalf of everyone, thanks.

We are just a group of guys like any other and we don't even always agree amongst ourselves.

We make mistakes and sometimes difficult problems emerge that we have little control over, Sometimes it takes a long time to figure out the right solution.

Anything we do to address an issue seems to have a collateral effect on others.

It's a fine line to walk sometimes.

your welcome to all, glad to be of service. its a team effort by all of us. we all do our part and we do the best we can. the term "never a dull moment" can be an understatement at times. but really its you guys that need to be thanked. you are the ones that participate in the arena, you all are the ones that make it what it is today. we as admins, can only setup the arena and encourage participation. you guys are the ones that show up, play in it and make it what it is today. you too should all be thanked!

co-operation and input from you guys is what makes it great. keep up the good work and thank you!  :salute

dude...you'd have loved last night. 7k and above you were in the soup. i actually had a GREAT fight against RTR at about 10k alt......his 109 vs my 38j......the entire time in the soup. it was a friggin BLAST.

things like that also make ya wonder just how in hell the guys in real life ever survived with their sanity doing that every day in pretty much any weather condition that they could lift off in too. <<S>> to them.

I went up against ya once CAP, once I think. I was in a G-14 fighting a 38J. A few close passes, a few close head on's ( I saw you trying to ho me, tisk tisk, lol) but I just ended up loosing a advantage, and decided to dive out. But not to worry Bigrat got me in the end. <S>  Was fun and I will be flying in the AvA more often now thanks to last night.

yea.....i actually thought i was getting a different angle.....i think my comment on vox(thankfully no one was in range) was s$%#t i just tried to ho this guy.......i generally try to avoid em, unless i see fire comin at me first, so my apologies for that sir.
and yea....i felt like i was gaining angles, and that's about when you started going for lower alt......i started to follow, but it felt like a setup, so i kept my alt, knowing there was a 262 in the area. it was fun though.

it's a pretty friggin fun arena, ain't it?  :aok

oh yea.......i popped that 262 about 15 minutes after our engagement. caught him up top, comin up from a bnz with nearly no e at all.  :devil

you comin back? it's always good to see good pile-its comin in.

The AvA staff reminds me of me.  :D

Seriously though, without you guys doing what you do, there would be less incentive to log in each night.  It's a great alternative to the tired crap in the Mains, and if you stick with it for a few weeks, you'll become a better pilot...at least I have.

Yeah, Cap, I deffently will be back. I had no clue as to what other friendlys were in the area (much less a 262). I knew I was at a disadvantage, so I figured it was time to head out. I thought it was a brilliant part on your end for disengaging while you still had alt. I admired that. Although I finally got shot down, I had so much fun. Thanks to all for doing this and keeping this arena going.

that's the whole ticket with this arena. you need to know what's going on around you. teamwork is so much more important here than in the other arenas.....something i'm not very good at....yet.

besides the guys that are busting their tulips to make this arena what it is, there is also a core group of friggin GREAT pile-its to fly with, and against. 99% of the guys in there will laugh with ya after you shoot them down, or vice-versa.

i think i've mentioned it before......but it can't hurt to repeat.......this arena is so dam much fun, that it has ruined the rest of the arenas for me.....this has been where i spend all of my logged in flying time since i first flew here.

also....wait till you see the map usranger is working on. calling it beautiful is almost insulting him. then there's the twinrivers map....wait'll you see that. desert terrain, destroyable bridges, dust storms..........

me thinks you're gonna fit right in here sir.  :aok

welcome to the madness!!

thank ya sir. it seems like not too long ago, that not only would i have continued the chase, but i'd have compressed, and gone right by ya on my way to becoming a twin allison powered lawndart.  :rofl

i won't be in tonight, as it's late, and i'm tired....tomorrow night i need to be at mcguire afb.....i'm hoping for wed. night......
