Do you fly with a mouse or joystick. I personally fly with a mouse since I haven't been able to buy a joystick yet. :salute

:) ok then :noid

... a string hahah no seriously I fly by tilting the monitor.
-
its not too bad with a mouse, thats how I did it for the first few months. . .

Some players have been very successful with a mouse, but I think it's a safe bet that most of us use a joystick of some sort.
A very simple one with even just a hat switch (some sort of rudder input is also highly suggested) will go a long way to making your playing time less aggravating. There's no need to buy a $300 setup right off the bat--you can get what you need for a 10th of the price.

:joystick:

yep but I must admit im descent in the mouse. :)

I hacked my Kinect to my PC so now I use that. The only downside is that I am only able to play for about 15-20 minutes and then have to take a rest, running around and flapping your arms like an airplane gets tiring. I also think I got a concussion when I hit my head on the table doing a somersault while trying to pull off a loop during a dogfight.
Somebody gave me instructions on how to connect the Move to my PC but I think I'd look really silly holding a wand with a glowing ball in my hand while standing in front of the TV, so I'll stick with my Kinect for now.
ack-ack

:rofl I wish that were true as i'd try to get you in a fast steep dive so your head would smash into the coffee table when you compressed :lol :devil :bolt:

I started with a gamepad,lol
<S> Oz

I fly with a mouse and do ok. Make sure you fine tune your calibration. I notice I even change calibration between some planes as well as between vehicles and planes. Just my $0.02

Joystick is definitely the betterpath. I started with a mouse, I felt like I was good but I was only bnzing. Joystick also eliminates the need for the H button : )
-
didnt know you could use a joystick with Ah2. :headscratch:

Started with mouse now rather play with my stick. :airplane:

Although I have been proved wrong by (????) who only uses a mouse to play, I still feel a stick is the way to go for most every new player. Buying a cheap one will not last long here and will get you ok results. Buying something like a Ch Products Combat stick or better will last many years and you will never regret purchasing the performance their line of products can offer you.
Asking whether stick verses mouse is better is like asking is hand better than woman or is a steering wheel better than reins or should i use toilet paper vs. leaves...

Well apparently I'm a leaf-toting, hand-loving sleigh driver, cause I've flown with my trusty mouse/keyboard for 4 years. :aok (on a short hiatus, at the moment)

Saitek ST-290 Pro, Wal mart $19.95 if they still make it. Mine is six years old and works fine.

That one lasted about 3 months here..... but it worked well while it lasted.

CH products are great, but there's always the chance someone might not be completely enamored with this game for the next decade. Better to spend a small amount and see if your head still has hair in a month ;)

Good advice Vudak.
And the ST-290 was supposed to have been a good cheap starter stick
