I thought I would share some more info about my new system.
As the gents in my Squad can attest, I had a horrible problem with my mike staying open on RW. The buttons on my throttle seemed to stick.
I also had lots of spikes on the graph in AH when looking at my joystick throws. I had to adjust deadbands to compensate.
Since I got my new case/mobo/processor, those problems are gone.
NOT ONE stuck button!
Then spikes (noise) are barely even there! I was able to back off the deadband adjustments and give myself much better stick response.
WHY???
Here is my theory:
POWER.
My old case had a 230W Power Supply. I suspected this was a problem when upgraded my video card a while back, but I never did anything about it because I was able to play just find.
Then my Sound card gave me fits...Bought a SB Live! and that's when the problems started.
My guess is that the newer cards sucked more power than what I started with.
Now, running 300W, I am amazed as to how smooth everything moves. (It could be the MOBO busses, but I doubt it.)
The lesson learned, don't under-estimate the power of power!

Oh, and if you think I'm kidding about how much of an improvment it makes, check my position on the AH score board!
I have NEVER been in the Top 50, EVER!!!
