I have the Droid Incredible which I am happy I went that rout instead of the Droid X.

Apps.

Plane Finder (tells you what planes are in the air and where they are headed.  Pretty cool.  Cnn did some news on it saying terrorist can use it for there next attack.)
Bar code Scanner (gives you the best prices around when you scan the bar code)
Bit (Remember in Tron his little side kick that only answered yes or no)  :D
Tikl
Slacker Radio (like pandora)
Shazam (put the phone next to your speaker and it will tell you the song that is playing)
Google Goggles (take a picture and they will tell you everything you need to know about what the picture of)

One question.
There is a app/some way to make your phone a mobile hot spot for free.  I can not see to find it anywhere.  Anybody know what its called and if they have it how do they like it?

There's stuff like barnacle on the market, I got the free one here: http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/   - note your phone needs to be rooted. It seems to be limited to ad-hoc mode until Android 2.3.

Don't forget angry birds seasons.

And btw task killers or among like that is not needed in droid x phones.  Since the task wllreload itself if it's needed.  Either uninstall the app or freeze it if you don't need it.  I wouldn't delete it if its a system app.

I have the apex rom.it's fast better than stock.

Just swapped from iPhone to the Droid X...so it is taking a bit to get used to the phone....LOL

On the iPhone my favorite app was the NASA app.....a shame they do not have it for the Droid X
Second place is the app that is called Sportacular, they have a better (IMO) version on the android market called Live Scores (you can set favorite teams, get alerts for just about anything from a score to a quarter ending, to beginning of a game etc!

On the Droid X (android market):

Launcher Pro Plus.....replacement for the stock launcher
Google Maps....holy crap they are getting really nice with voice turn by turn and the new 3d maps of certain areas...pretty cool to see the buildings in 3d!
K9 Mail.....places all of your mail accounts in one!  You can setup alerts for any of them AND you can change the LED notification color
Google Sky
Weather Bug

Not what we heard. Recommended by many sources, including where we bought our Droid X and on line. Many applications do not close easily or cleanly; others are sneaks, depleting battery while hidden in background. With one click, Advanced Task Killer turns off unwanted battery eaters.

task killers will only stop the task, which will restart on its own causing more slowdowns of your droid.  go ahead download it and try it.  you will see the task restarting again in a few minutes.  way to really stop a task is to freeze it or uninstall it.  I wouldnt recommend you uninstall any app but to really stop a task you need to freeze it with titanium backup or something similar in the market and for that you need to be rooted.

join the droid x community at http://www.droidxforums.com, lots of good info.  you can also d/l the app from the market.  they will teach you everything you need to know about the droid x.
