Yazoo City was hit by a tornado for the second time this year.
The southern part of the town was devestated by an EF4 on April 24th and now again tonight.
Initial reports are saying that a significant tornado passed directly through the town, tearing down tree's,
knocking out power, and causing structual damage to buildings. No word yet on just how bad it is.
Prayers go out to the people, it's been a rough year for them.
April Tornado: Yazoo City tornado #1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoRabHzYQsk)
Mostly a rain wrapped tornado but it is visible at times. it was about a mile wide.
Not much info out yet on tonight's tornado other than what i wrote.

The April 24th tornado was 1 3/4 miles wide at one point and on the ground for 100 miles.

Years ago while driving long-haul;I was blessed with Yazoo City four times. Everyone was a friend to this stranger
just passing thru their community. Yaz has had many ups and downs (mostly downs) lately;but these proud people
have never,or ever will, give up the fight. To my own personal 'Mayberry'-I salute Yazoo City,MS. Godspeed ya'll.

Indeed it was. I meant it was about a mile wide at the time of the video. You can see it damage path on google earth. It actually passed just south of Yazoo City but still directly hit many homes.
Here's a picture of the damage path.
