Title: Sand on screen

Was flying tonight and noticed some pixel flickers. Got steadily worse and after 30 minutes it looked like I had sand flickering all over my screen. Just logged off and notice it on my desktop too, but not nearly as bad as it was in AH.

Any idea what that could be?

Were the pixels black/white and more noticeable on plane textures?  I had an issue where I would hear my speakers pop (I hope) then the screen would get like you described and Framerates would die (until I looked away from plane).  It persisted onto the desktop until I reset the computer.  I think it had to do with too much Overclocking in my system, but I'm not positive, especially if you don't OC.  I just had to replace my GPU due to it randomly dieing (odd since it was EVGA and under 1.5 years old) but it had been several months since the incident had happened.
Not real sure what it is, but if you OC try turning it down, and it's possible (although I have no real evidence) the GPU is considering dieing.

Check the temperature of your GPU under load. If your monitor has two interfaces (DVI/HDMI) and your GPU also AND you determine your card isnt getting hot you could text the other interface to see if it clears up.

More like little 'silver' dots. Very apparent in games, but not so bad on my desktop.
No overclocking here.
I will check the temp when I get home today and make sure the fan is running and all the connections are tight.

What happens to me is this: I'll be playing fine, then all of a sudden objects (trees, buildings, etc.) will all turn white followed by a "graininess" that covers the whole screen.

I first had it happen on the Mindanoa (sp?) map a few months ago. I simply re-log and everything will be fine again.

It is rare, and I'm running an extremely low end system.

your GPU is artifacting either due to heat(the memory chips specifically).
it only shows up when gaming because that is the time you stress the GPU.
might be time to clean the GPU fan with some canned air.
