Title: RDRAM question
Post by: Gomer on November 11, 2001, 02:17:00 PM
I have a P3 733 currently running 128mb of Rdram pc-800 non-ecc  My question, I want to expand from 128mb to 256mb, or even 384mb.  I have heard somewhere along the line that the ram needs to be installed in pairs.
I'm wondering if I could keep my current 128mb and add a 256mb  or do I need to buy a matching pair?
thanks

Unfortunately it is true that RIMMs must be installed in pairs of the same size.

If you have 4 ram slots then you don't have a problem, but if not you will likely have to replace the old ram with a pair of new ram sticks.
