I feel like I'm in a dream sometimes, it's almost like I'm a bystander in my own life. Does anyone know what it is? Or did I just eat some bad food?
I've felt like this for awhile, but I don't really feel like I can tell anyone.

lay off the DXM... your not astral projecting, your just frying your liver.

The most important aspect is the fact that the experience is recent. Sudden onset of just about any symptom is important and often alerts one that something has significantly changed in one's brain chemistry. Changes in Dopamine and Serotonin neurotransmitters can do this. You may want to review your past few weeks — have you added/deleted medications? Have you changed medications taken for nonpsychiatric issues such as pain, diabetes, etc.?
Sounds like an episode of dissociation/depersonalization, a hypnogogic experience, or some other condition.
Or perhaps you just need to get a few successive nights of some good sleep...
I'm not a doctor, but I did play one on TV, once :noid

You know how you can sit in a chair and lean back on two legs? But then sometimes you lean back a little too far and you almost fall, but then you catch yourself just before you reach the tipping point and actually do fall. Well, you know that second, after you lose your balance, while you're falling, but before you catch yourself?
I feel like that all the time.

Jokes aside, flu seasons is here, have you been taking any cold medications?
in the past 10 or so years DXM has been used instead of codeine as a cough suppressant, which in large doses does cause 'out of body experiences'. Some people react much stronger to it than others.

Hydrocodone pain meds, lortabs and the like, and muscle relaxers make me feel like that when taken in combination. It might be time to see the doc today Tupac.

I haven't taken any meds in awhile, and I don't feel like I can go to the doctor because I'm afraid I'll lose my medical.

This has happend to me every so often, id agree with greens...kinda the dejavu feeling but a bit different. I think its the aspect that humans can wonder "why" they are here etc and look deeper into things, where as animals are more based on instinct, as in they dont really care why they are alive or here, just eat, sleep, reproduce. I dont really think its a problem or a result of anything direct. Sometimes, you just "wonder" i guess is the best way i can put it.

I know what it is. You were recently abducted by aliens. What you are feeling are the effects of the medication they gave you during probing. Smile, you never know, it might have been a female alien. Then again . . . . :O
:D

Women, can't live with them.
But you can't bear life without them.

Don't go to your AME for general health stuff. And there is also this new internet thing where you can do research on the various drugs that are approved for use and any potential restrictions placed upon using them.

Nah, it's not deja vu I know exactly what he is talking about happens to me every year when it gets cold for some reason. Bad enough on some days I can't think straight. I've always just assumed it was allergies or sinuses doing it.

I once done some PCP back many many years ago and thought that i was in a dream. Even to this day, I still get that odd feeling every once in a while. Feels like youre walking around in someone elses body.
-
I think this feeling started a few weeks ago when I had a dream, then I woke up (but I was still dreaming) and then I woke up for real.
Its a really odd feeling

Ive had some very odd things happen to me as well. OBE type things while sleeping. Since my father died I sleep walk. When to bed in my room and woke up down stairs with all the lights on in the house. Left meat out to thaw over night. Woke up with it sitting on a plate on the table. Like i made a plate to eat.
Have you been stressed out lately?
That is what my Dr says is causing most of my issues.

I have been stressed, but not all the time.

I have been stressed, but not all the time.
Go talk to a dr about it bro. Could be many things. Better to be safe.
Stress will make you feel like youre dying. Ive been having some brutal anxiety attacks. They come out of no where. You can be thinking about the nicest things and BOOM.

I know exactly what you mean. For several years I suffered from anxiety attacks that would totally incapacitate me. Just like you said, they would come right out of the blue. Often times I'd end up laying down, thinking that it was the final straw for me. Usually I'd fall into a deep sleep (from exhaustion) after I calmed down a bit.
Finally, my Wife convinced me to see a Doc. He did a few tests and then sat down with me. I told him all about the episodes, and his answer to me was (I watermelon you not) "You're freaking out." He prescribed some anti-depressants that I started to take.
Took those for about two weeks and then said to myself, "Self, if they make a drug to set your mind straight, then you should be able to handle it on your own."
That was about five years ago. Every now and then I still get that anxious tingle trying to crawl up on me, but I've been successful at keeping it at bay by simply telling myself that I'm not dying, I'm only "freaking out" and can handle the situation.
Good luck to all you guys. Stay strong and maintain a high level of confidence in your abilities to handle what life throws at you.

check blood sugar
Yep -- sounds like blood sugar.
Really, though, all of us here are not the best sources to ask. You should go get a physical and talk to your doctor about it while you are there. You would only lose your medical if there is something medically wrong with you -- in which case, you need to get it dealt with anyway.
