:rofl
while i was raised in the era of 50 basic cable channels, i do remember Jeff Foxworthy doing something on this. i thought it was hilarious.
i feel your pain :lol
-
I remember those days. Seems like it happened WAY too often.
-
Back when I, as the oldest child, WAS the remote control. Had to physically turn the knob and then the fine tuning dial to get the channel in just right...
-
how about having to adjust the antennae for like a half hour to get an almost clear picture.
-
You didn't put aluminum foil on them?
-
Back in my day, we had to CRANK the television to get it to work! AND! It had to warm up in the winter! AND we had to drive into town for penny candy and a crank for the television night! :old:
-
You didn't put aluminum foil on them?
Oh yeah....still had to adjust the d*** thing.
-
I had an antennae on my TV until I was about 13. I remember fondly when I would be watching the state's educational television (KET in Kentucky's case) and an aircraft would fly by and mess up my signal. I spent many man-hours cursing commercial air-liners all the while fixing the signal the best I could. :)

We lived about 3 miles from N.O. int'l airport right under the east-west flight line. I know exactly what you mean Wldcat.
-
Good times, eh? :lol
-
Yeah. Especially when a big rig with a powerful linear amp on his CB would pass within a mile or so and you could hear their convo over the TV.
-
Oh yes, the days when I was the remote control :lol
-
I spit my beer out on just about every reply in this post so far. :rofl
I get my Grandfather a glass of brandy every night and tonight, he was watching the president on C-Span. My grandparents raised me and I grew up in this house (joined the Army, got married/kids/divorce/moved back in/moved out/married) and now I'm back, taking care of my Grandfather with the new wife.
I came back up here (We live upstairs) with this awful feeling of dread that I couldn't explain. Then it dawned on me :O The president was on TV :uhoh
Just brought back memories. I figured I couldn't be the only one that ever went through that :aok
